Week three over btw, and this guy is still stuck in Gamma 3 for some weird reason lol.
Please.. that’s nothing. I fought an account with TEN, that’s right, TEN r4s. And he was still stuck in low quantum/ high arcane. I literally almost put the phone down he literally had every new champ and all the meta defenders at r3 or r4.

Honestly, I wouldn't call this a massive account and say it shouldn't be in gamma. It has 5 r4s, which if you bothered to do WOF is the limit for ftp r4s. This really is just a standard gc account isn't it? Most seasoned accounts are gonna be all r3 with a few r4s at a minimum now.
What you also have to take into account is that the introduction of radiance has brought a lot more accounts to the table in bgs that otherwise might not have bothered past just reaching the gc or even playing at all. It's going to flood the gc with these types of accounts all trying to get to 200 points.
The games changed in this regard and I think people need to get used to it
It's not a massive account, and I didn't call it that anywhere either in fact it's pretty close to mine. What he does have however is more problematic defenders for this meta than I do which automatically puts me at a disadvantage.
Yes it did, but accounts like this one and mine would've been at around 250 this time around last season. I'd assume you play on higher leagues so no way for you to know this but this is the level at which I play and for these accounts to be currently sitting at 100 points is ridiculous. Radiance was already here so this has nothing to do with radiance but with the meta itself, nobody wants to play it not even for the radiance which is why participation is so low and Arcane is still sitting at 150 when week four is about to begin.

I know it's worse up there I got to 168 last night I believe Arcane 3, and that's as high as I was able to go. I wasn't saying the account itself is huge, I was pointing out the fact that he's sitting in Gamma 3, with an account that last season would've already been sitting in Arcane 3 with 250ish points, when week four is about to begin. That as a whole shows there's a big problem with participation this season, it obviously has dropped and it's easy to see why, the meta is arse lol.

You may very well be right and I'm sure a lot of people are put off by the meta but also remember that last season everyone started in v2 and thus most everyone was in the gc on day 1/2 so points were skewed higher. This season whilst some did benefit from kabams mess up at the start of the season, most started from d4 so points naturally won't be as high as last season.
I'm not defending this meta, I hated it too when I first played it, especially as I didn't have the benefit of playing endless friendlies with it pre season to even know what worked. But after a huge rage infused day of playing trying to claw back the points I'd lost and figuring some stuff out I don't hate it as much my first impression of it.
Hopefully the next few metas are better for everyone.

Everytime I see an account like that I always ask why tf are you not in Celestial with a roster like this. 😂

That's a valid point too I suppose, but I do think to a certain extent a lot of people (and by a lot of people I mean the whales who spend a lot but are terrible at the game) just haven't bothered too much because the skill ask for this meta is really high. We'll see what happens next season I guess.

I don't think there is much of a skill ask this season apart from certain defenders that have RPG asks. If anything this meta gives more lower accounts the ability to push cause of the boost to damage and power. I'm mostly a ftp chilling at 374 right now and almost half of my deck is 6*'s. Like you lose nothing from using a 6* Corvus, bullseye, or enchantress this meta, maybe some speed but you won't really see players where that is a problem until 300+ it's a nuke meta

i don't know if standard gc accounts are supposed to mean above average level of account size? cause i'm in gc with only 3 r4 and still have a couple of r5 6 stars (serpent and onslaught )

AI manipulation to the extent this meta requires you to, is a high skill ask simply due to the fact that AI is unpredictable 90% of the time these days, and it's definitely not a nuke meta lol I don't know what made you think that. The meta makes defenders who were already problematic even more problematic, and you have less options for them as well.
Everyone want inverted controls meta till they have to fight inverted controls meta.
Because no way Kabam will be just friendly and happy to give simple inverted,
Oh no no, they'll most likely give "ticking inverted" "inverted switching every special use of both heroes and AI" "Controls reverse after every 10 hits"
I would like to see inverted controls meta just for the chaos. I may not participate but would be fun to see the enraged gameplay streams.
The Battleground Metas have been truly awful lately. I really hope Kabam takes notice of this and reconsiders their designs for future seasons. I don't get why everything has to be so over the top. They have created genuinely awful to fight defenders lately which is fine if they at least give us a season that is simple and easy.
Why can we not have something chill like power shield or life transfer. Make it as vanilla as possible so it comes down to the skill of the player more so than "do you have this character that was released 2 days ago as a 7* R4 or else you lose!"

Power shield definitely doesn’t come down to skill it comes down to who can draft Deadpool X force, Kate, and sinister. Those metas are just as bad power gain

While I agree in some way, I do think every single node will favor some champs more than others. At least with power shield I feel like it greatly benefits a lot of good attackers and even others can play around it with DOT effects. It definitetly allows for more options than "hit into block to gain power and deal more damage in block"

It's a nuke meta because at least for me in mysterium 1 EVERY fight apart from leaving problems open like Deathless and serpent are 30-40 second fights, only reason I'm losing rounds is because their bullseye on defense threw a sp1 while mine did not as I get him down in 25 seconds with Corvus, its all about speed and to some extent AI RNG like what you said. But that to me is inherently not more skill, I just drew the short straw when the enchantress I'm fighting takes three steep blocks for her to heavy while mine instantly did it and thus I lose to a Kate sp2. I don't know what problematic defenders you mention that don't have the same counters, they are harder but spiral still takes serpent, Starky still takes Zola/Deathless, any nuke like hulking, Kate, Corvus, massacre, valk (all 6*) take a lot of other problems like bullseye, onslaught, and enchantress with proper AI which is inherently just luck.

I didn't say there are zero counters, I said your options are way more limited and for that reason alone I don't consider it a nuke meta. Chavez/Kushala always work for Serpent not this time, BRB usually works for Zola/RedSkull not this time, Ironheart always cooks Dust not this time, Gentle/Bullseye, Red Guardian/Enchantress the list goes on and on. I'm not saying there aren't any options I'm saying the options are so limited it's very easy to get completely outdrafted and that's why I don't consider it a nuke meta cause there's really nothing to nuke unless you actually got lucky and drafted one of the very limited counters for some of these defenders which some of us who are mid level Valiants don't even have, and as if that wasn't enough there's also the AI manipulation aspect which like it or not does require some skill because if you can't get them to back off and hold block you need fast reaction time to either not get intercepted, parry or cornered.

Kushala works for serpent this meta with her healing on block and so does Nico replacing Chavez though I don't expect anyone to have her yet, BRB gets replaced by another nuke like Kate with sp2 into block for Zola/skull, Domino/Masacre/Corvus take bullseye and enchantress, and sentinel cooks dust this meta. While I agree most of those options you listed don't work, they simply got replaced by other options that thrive this meta. The usuals won't work rather instead replaced with more variety from other characters. It's just learning the niche matchups, can't do the normal "safeties" though I understand the frustration, there is a lot of adapting
Week three over btw, and this guy is still stuck in Gamma 3 for some weird reason lol.

Of course but most of those niche counters are not easy to use for the fights you mention, especially not without parry. These are fights that with proper gameplay are doable but the average player won't pull them off well enough to win the match. They require a lot of AI manipulation and quick reaction time except for maybe Corvus since that one's just braindead hit into block. The rest however, if you aren't an experienced player you are not going to be pulling 80% of those fights off without losing half your health which is what op said and I agree with. This meta was designed for every player that consistently places in Quantum and above, everyone else will struggle a lot. Sure Sentinel cooks Dust but is it easier than with Ironheart when you can parry freely? Absolutely not. Is Zola easier with Kate than when you can freely block hits with BRB? Also no. The same applies pretty much to every defender I mentioned, there are counters but not only are they more niche they are waaay harder to use not just because of the node but because of the randomness of AI these days.
i know it's a nuke meta so this closes the roster gap a little which you can argue is a good thing but playing this properly is for big brained celestial type players and not for the masses.
with the type of defenders released in the last 18 months, these types of metas don't work like they used to. i remember people liked the crit me meta from 2 years ago (where massacre was top dog) or whatever and when they did it again like 6-8 months ago everyone hated it. then we got a spite/placebo meta soon after or something and everyone hated that.
old designs with new defenders don't seem like a good mix.
@Rebark is right. for a season maybe add a small wrinkle or something where you gain a noticeable but not huge benefit when doing something like intercept or parry specials (i would argue against having reverse controls). nothing huge, and then let the match play out as if it's a nuke meta. these OP defenders are like nodes themselves, if you combine them with nodes they make the mode pretty miserable.
What celestial players you talking about ? Beroman posted that this is a **** meta. Who else do you think is a better big brained celestial ?

Please.. that’s nothing. I fought an account with TEN, that’s right, TEN r4s. And he was still stuck in low quantum/ high arcane. I literally almost put the phone down he literally had every new champ and all the meta defenders at r3 or r4.

Everytime I see an account like that I always ask why tf are you not in Celestial with a roster like this. 😂
