I don’t want to have to leave my alliance, but my alliance doesn’t do raids, so if I want all the best rewards in this event I would need to leave the alliance I have been with for years, a place I am very comfortable with, to find an alliance that does do raids but not serious war because I am not interested in doing war. Oh and I need to do that with zero warning, having no idea how to even go about it. If I did find the right alliance I would be leaving my old alliance short handed, to join a new alliance for a month, then most likely leave that alliance to return to my original one, if they would even take me back. What a great community event!
It’s interesting how the realm events are seen as something that should unite the whole community. The first (and IMO best realm event) required players to win at least one fight in Necropolis in order to qualify. A huge % of players did not and could not participate in that event.
And where did the idea come from that everyone should be able to teach every milestone? When Epoch is released, nobody thinks that every TB bro should be able to explore it. I’m not asking rhetorically, I’m genuinely curious. What is it about the realm events that makes everyone feel differently?
I agree with everyone that the communication around this event has been really weird, but Mike probably gave us the hint when he mentioned that some of the milestones are connected to future announcements. Doesn’t mean this is a good design or comms plan, but that might be the reason they aren’t just publishing the traditional table of points.
Realm events are supposed to unite the community, me leaving my an alliance cause they didn't run 3 Nightmare raids and I didn't want someone sniping my spot 🤣.

What do you feel the point of Realm events is?
Necropolis didn’t have a true Realm event. It had an event that was running in the background that allowed the people who could do it to get extra rewards. The first Realm event was Crystal opening which everyone could do and everyone could hit the minimum to get all rewards achieved. The next was battlegrounds, again everyone could hit the minimum to get all scored rewards but definitely harder for lower accounts. Next was banquet and again same story. This is the first realm event that all players can contribute points but only valiant (and maybe paragon) can hit the minimum. Why do we have an event where lower accounts get to push higher accounts higher?
I thought realm events were meant to give all summoners something to push for and the more everyone pushes the more everyone is rewarded. Here everyone pushes but after a certain point, only those that are valiant will get rewarded. That is weird and disheartening to those are either not valiant or don’t do one of required tasks like raids.

Lower accounts push bigger accounts higher? What is this nonsense lol .. How are lower accounts putting Nightmare raid points in the realm event? Are they putting 15k worth of Incursions Saga points? They are mooching off our points and rightfully being locked by milestone minimum requirements and selector locks.
Rank rewards make absolutely no sense in this event for f2p players. IF they finish everything and get 300k points, they get the maximum, best rewards from milestones. If they don't, they get less. Aaaall these ppl, will be in 50k-1m rank, and will get the exact same stuff. Now the spenders, will compete for every other rank, separately. My question is: Why don t you do a separate, spending competition, one that can someone "unlock" with the key that s named "300k points"? Everybody know the ranks are clearly p2get, there s no need to cover this aspect with a "community" type event, this is not a "community" type event, this is a "ghetto/minority inside the community" type event.

Do you really believe that the final milestone is achievable by only the valiant players who hit the 300K? In other words, if you removed every point from players that can’t get the 300K, do you believe the final milestone will still be achieved? I don’t. I believe you need all of those other players’ points who can’t get the 300K. How is that not the lower players lifting the higher players?

No I don't but its idiotic to think lower progression is helping higher, when higher progression will most likely put the most points. How can someone who can't put up 300k points help more than someone who can? Its simple, top progression will push lower to the highest milestone possible for them. Lower progression won't push higher to the highest milestone possible. That's why we needed help from an imaginary friend like Stark Foundation before, and whales spending insane ammounts.
The communication on this was really weird. People could have moved alliances based on knowing the scoring system. The drops? They claimed on the stream they were just a test. Turns out its like 7.5k points if you got em and wait to claim them after the event went live 🤣
As for the Twitch drop issue, it actually wasn't intended for it to be in the July drop, and these are extra points.
I'm aware that some people got it over others - (Why are you waiting a whole week to claim the Twitch drops, btw...?) - and I've asked the Data team to run a giftmap to everyone who claimed it before the points were live.
Maybe we'll do more streams with more extra points? Who knows, it's a long summer - and this event is supposed to be a casual and fun source of extra rewards you gain from engaging with the game leading up to Summoners Fest (come hang out in Vancouver, btw)
Awesome so happy all this is getting sorted appreciate the work you guys are doing
There are 300,000 total earnable points, so yes you can reach the top milestone, even if you miss a few.
Why do you make everything p2w?
I wouldn't call it pay to win. Sure, spending could be a tie breaker for points, but if you don't do everything, especially Raids, no amount of spending is going to catch you up.
Well, technically speaking $24,000 USD might catch you up. But even among the mega whales I suspect the number of people who will actually do that is very close to zero.
Since about a third of the realm points are in Raids, and my alliance doesn't do raids (much less Nightmare Raids which seems to be required to cap out the milestones) I'm basically out of it. But the event is still giving me a ton of rewards for basically just playing the game more or less as I normally do, so I can't be too upset. I find it ... odd that there's so much emphasis on Raids given their presumptive optional nature - and the fact they are tied to alliances, meaning individual players cannot simply choose to do them just for the event - but I suppose Kabam has its reasons there.
There are ranked rewards, which will be unobtainable unless you pay I would call that pay to win
They are unobtainable even if you do pay, unless you also basically do everything. Normally the term pay to win refers to games where either whomever pays the most wins, or spending offers an overwhelming advantage compared to everything else. But that's not really true here, except in an essentially unrealistic extreme. Spending offers an advantage between two players who otherwise are tied in all other respects, but having an advantage between two competitors who otherwise do exactly the same things equally well is not pay to win, that is literally all competitions.
I'm sorry but if there's NO way you can place #1 without having to spend, it's called a PAY TO WIN event.
In whatever circles you roam, I believe you. Including the fact you probably shout it out loud while you're typing it.
I come from the ancient generation of game players that did not just make up new meanings for words to justify their use. Once upon a time, calling this situation "pay to win" would have gotten you laughed off the discussion boards. Of course, that was back when literacy was almost a prerequisite to even get on the internet, since you needed to at least be able to read instructions to do so.
By the way, there is literally no possible avenue by which a Chess player can become the FIDE world champion without spending money. Therefore, Chess is a pay to win competition.
Now it is funny you mention literacy as part of this event not being "pay to win". When comparing this event with every characteristic that a pay to win event has it is easy to conclude that the event is pay to win. Just from a general overview where we have a leader board, with 1. A cap on the amount of points obtainable 2. Extra points only available through cash deals.
On the last paragraph, I'm so confused by your conclusion. There is no sport that does not involve spending from training, travelling and actually earning a living. But then concluding that all it takes to become a champion is to spend even though that is just not related. In particular in Chess, you won't become a grandmaster and then win a championship playing and having the skills to do so.

I have to admit, it is completely frustrating. I would think it would have made more sense to strew it out among other milestones as well. Of course we can meet the objectives, but why not just offer it for each bout won. This limits the Battlegrounds to once every two days. I also do not like that you only get points for reaching [1] of each level. Gold 1, Diamond 1, etc. Why can't it be for each sub level as well? XX amount for Diamond V, Diamond IV, etc. It is forcing everyone in to modes they don't play often, and running away people that don't want to be forced to play them, ie Raids. There should also be Summoners Fest points in other Incursions fights other than Saga. I just think it is way too limited on how to achieve these. It is starting to look like as people raise rank in Battlegrounds, it would make sense to assist someone that is one win away from the new [1] rank and just give it to them for the Summoner's Fest points global number. I went in to Battlegrounds today and the last two people I went up against had their lowest champion at 42,000. How am I supposed to win against that? Some of us are Valiant, yet the AI fights in some of the modes are absolutely ridiculous. All these irritation would not be so bad if you didn't have to be at the top of everything. Summoner's Fest? Should be called Kabam Fest, because it is for them, not us.

I agree completely. There are ways they could have included more of the community in this. They could have put in alternative objectives for players not able to do Nightmare Raids or the AW Showcase. Hopefully they read these post and consider at least in the future as I'm not sure if they can modify by adding any other objectives at this point.
They should have tied it in to a game mode that is accessible to every level of player where you can grind if you wanted to. I would grind arenas on my free time for points if I could. Players can spend units on refreshing their timer if they want and would still help Kabam achieve their goal of $$$.
Realm Event as it is called have a powerfull mind suggestion ,so everyone wants to join and try.
And for the Mastodonts/Whales its awesome to show who from them, will be number one, as we can see the participation list.
Not a big surprise to anyone....
We have an awesome game called Marvel Contest of Champions that we can play for free ,of course to some extent, if you want more rewards to acomplish all the Realm rewards, you need to pay some to....Kabam

They've included most of the community in this, it's as simple as not being able to get every single reward if you don't play all modes of the game which is hardly anything new. The point is to play the game and unless all of the points were in the daily super event i don't get how anything they do could address the issues of everyone. You can still get a ton of shards without having to do nightmare raids
One question for you @WednesdayLength, do you believe all players can hit the 285,000 mark without doing the AW Showcase related points and Nightmare raids? Just curious and if so please let me know. This realm event seems different than prior ones where the entire community could honestly get the top rewards and then the rank rewards is what distinguished between players.

You will not. Kabam has said there is 300,000 available so missing the 12,000 from nightmare raids (if you’re doing regular raids) and the 15,000 from AW showcase puts you at 273,000 max if you hit everything else, do not purchase any points and didn’t get the bonus/extra points from the twitch drops.
(If you don’t do raids at all you miss 60k points so figure that in as needed)
Actually, I starting to feel a bit concerned if we as a community would reach 38billion points.
With lots of point lock behind end game contents and 3 BG wins isn't guaranteed with these metas
Right I'm at milestone 27, while the Realm is only at milestone 21. Would be pretty rough to reach 285,000 points but the Realm doesn't reach it final milestone.

I think the milestone with the modok/patriot selector is the final milestone like all the other realm events the ones after are just extra bonus milestones
I think we’ve had ~4 cycles of objectives from BGs, so that’s 4.8K for a total of 72.3K. I’m guessing the remainder comes from DSE.
For large chunks of points remaining, I’m assuming there will be another 15K from next month’s Valiant Gauntlet, another 12.5K from BGs GC, and then some amounts from August Solo objectives. The rest will be DSE and every other day BGs objectives (~60K). That should peak at ~180K total for the event—for a non-Raids player.

How are lower accounts putting Nightmare raid points in the realm event? Are they putting 15k worth of Incursions Saga points?
They are mooching off our points and rightfully being locked by milestone minimum requirements and selector locks.
Its simple, top progression will push lower to the highest milestone possible for them. Lower progression won't push higher to the highest milestone possible. That's why we needed help from an imaginary friend like Stark Foundation before, and whales spending insane ammounts.
Just from a general overview where we have a leader board, with
1. A cap on the amount of points obtainable
After getting my three wins i accept matches and leave phone on table to auto fight the bg.
Does nothing for individual points, but help out others.
As I was thinking...
But...
Its simple and fair.
Thanks Kabam 🥳
(If you don’t do raids at all you miss 60k points so figure that in as needed)
With lots of point lock behind end game contents and 3 BG wins isn't guaranteed with these metas
Right I'm at milestone 27, while the Realm is only at milestone 21. Would be pretty rough to reach 285,000 points but the Realm doesn't reach it final milestone.
I’m sitting at 76.605K, which I think is the max obtainable without doing any Raids. A breakdown…
Showcase 15K
Incursions 15K
Gauntlet 15K
BGs 12.5K
Comp package 10K
I think we’ve had ~4 cycles of objectives from BGs, so that’s 4.8K for a total of 72.3K. I’m guessing the remainder comes from DSE.
For large chunks of points remaining, I’m assuming there will be another 15K from next month’s Valiant Gauntlet, another 12.5K from BGs GC, and then some amounts from August Solo objectives. The rest will be DSE and every other day BGs objectives (~60K). That should peak at ~180K total for the event—for a non-Raids player.

One aspect I didn’t appreciate is how many 7* sigs are available on the ride up. I’m swimming in them.
