One question for you @WednesdayLength, do you believe all players can hit the 285,000 mark without doing the AW Showcase related points and Nightmare raids? Just curious and if so please let me know. This realm event seems different than prior ones where the entire community could honestly get the top rewards and then the rank rewards is what distinguished between players.
I don't believe that. I also don't know what realm events your talking about in which the entire community could all get top rewards. It's called a contribution reward for a reason
The necropolis event where anyone who completed a necropolis path would get the reward regardless of if they completed 1 path or all and whether they died once or a 1000 times. That was a perfect example of a realm event where everyone got the same rewards.
Oh yeah, every player in the game completing a necro path.

No, because they're not supposed to. If you want or new the absolute top tier of rewards you shouldn't expect to get them without doing big content. This showcase is probably the easiest one we've had so far by the way
One point I would argue with is the notion of “big content.”
We can only do the content that’s in front of us, and whether that’s big enough or not isn’t really in our control. Sure, the Showcase and Gauntlet aren’t really bad but they aren’t really “big” compared to things like Carina’s or WoF or Necro. They’re just the latest incarnation of “harder” content.
As for top tier rewards being only available to players who compete the hardest content available, I agree with you—you should not get it all for less.
But I also think there’s a bit of a gap in the Realm event where a player who does everything except Raids finds himself at or below the 6* nexus crystal or even 6* saga sig stone milestones.
Obviously Kabam feels differently, but those aren’t anywhere near top rewards for players who can do everything else except Raids. There is decent stuff along the way, but the breakdown seems disproportionately weighted against non-Raids players and alliances.
If anything disappoints me about a “Realm” event, that’s it.
Dr. Zola
Edit: I will add that I am at the “1665 points every other day” part of this month with a 465 points from DSE day in between. That lasts for the rest of the month until August content drops. Adding points to my Realm score will be slow for the next few weeks, which kind of exemplifies the event design issues.
Big content is just a phrase I used, I'm not trying to argue what it's definitely described as big content.
Also like, that's kind of the point of these events? I didn't do raids before it thinking it was going to be too hard and now I do them and realise it's not as hard as i thought and it's one of my favourite games modes. The point is to push people to want to try these new modes for the rewards
Understood. I tend to think of Necro or Epoch or similar content as “big” but I get your point.
I’m also fine with encouraging players to get involved in Raids, but I don’t think this is how you do it. Instead of “try Raids and get better prizes” it feels more like “no good prizes if you don’t do Raids and Nightmare Raids specifically.” It’s much more stick than carrot.
And I’m not advocating for getting all the milestones if you don’t do Raids. No one should get the top several milestones if they don’t have substantial points from Raids.
On its face, the milestone structure and progression is puzzling, progressing from 7* shard selectors and 7* sig selectors to tiers of 6* sig stones and a 6* Nexus. That winds up being around the spot a non-Raids player would top out—ergo, more stick than carrot.
Dr. Zola
The rewards are almost the same all the way up the ladder, outside of the modok patriot selector it's all just shards and the absolute top of the pile being Awakening gems

Nope not every player in the game. Paragons. That's why it worked cause it didn't include everyone and they didn't need to make milestones suitable for every progression. This is the only realm event so far they did something "right" by putting the progression selectos. Yay no more 10-15 first milestones full of 6* shards.

If its exclusively for paragons then why is it being brought up in relation to a conversation about Realm events where every player in the game at any progression has a chance to reach the tip milestone. Raids is just what necro was for that event

Did I not expressed myself clearly? Road to the crypt is the only Realm event that worked as supposed to. All this new ones and variations or tests have been terrible. They all had flaws and intended problems. This current one is the only one so far that at least has early milestones with progression selectors instead of shoving lower level rewards into higher progression players. Is it clear now?

Whether it worked or not is not the question that was being asked. It was an event that required playing in high end content to get good rewards, exactly like the current event

Shards generically, yes. Same type of shards (or sigs for that matter), no.
39 milestones with 7* shards and/or sigs available to Paragon and higher. Then it’s a 6* nexus and 6* stones across the next 4-5 milestones.

OK and? If your tb or lower there are far more important things to do to get rewards than push the Realm event

My point is that the final milestones aren't like, absurdly better than the rest of them. Getting as many shards as you can on the milestones is already a huge reward for most accounts
As for the Twitch drop issue, it actually wasn't intended for it to be in the July drop, and these are extra points.
I'm aware that some people got it over others - (Why are you waiting a whole week to claim the Twitch drops, btw...?) - and I've asked the Data team to run a giftmap to everyone who claimed it before the points were live.
Maybe we'll do more streams with more extra points? Who knows, it's a long summer - and this event is supposed to be a casual and fun source of extra rewards you gain from engaging with the game leading up to Summoners Fest (come hang out in Vancouver, btw)
I have a tip for lower progression players willing to progress with thier progression😉
Don't claim milestones. The event is live for 2 whole months, and the milestones will stay there in the event, doesnt matter if they expire in overflow tab. Claim those once you reach your desired progression.
Last year I did something similar in my alt account. Saved all legendary crystals from August. Opened those only after hitting valaint. Same goes here with milestones. Patience and Planning PP
