Val eq choices are bugged

First quest can use cosmic and skill, and on the choice node the cosmic options disappear, even though gate type still says cosmic or skill

That's called pointless spamming.

That's not a bug, it's intended. The skill champs are for the path, the cosmic champs are for the boss. You could pick both because you had both in the first three fights. You'll notice that cosmic is only available when the boss is a fight you will take before the next swap.
