So we finally discovered what you believe to be competitive. Totally RNG-based, grind-focused content. Got it. Please spare us any future posts from you about BGs.
Read what I said in the last sentence. For a mode to be Competitive there has to be a level playing field which this mode does by giving everyone the same access to champs. Nobody is locked out of competing just because they don't have the champs or have them leveled up. I am consistently getting 900 points every reset by using the same strategy every time. You complain about it being too RNG focused yet BGs is literally the exact same and even worse.
First you have to get the champ, then you have to get the resources to rank them up, and finally you have to make sure you draft them. All of this is RNG that even requires money to achive.
The reason why I said a 2 star meta is because kabam doesn't have the technology to make it so your roster in one mode is separate from your roster in the main game. If I said kabam should give us 52 seven stars fully maxed out for a BGs meta they couldn't do that without actually giving those champs to keep permanently. Obviously there will be attacker and defender nodes along with the usual rules that will boost the health values so that fights wouldn't be done in 10 seconds.
When everyone has access to the same character all at max rank, the only deciding factor is who plays better not who spent the most.
Dreadful logic.
I imagine we canβt call the premier league competitive then because some football clubs are richer, and spend more on players than others..
I would say its more a single player mode with a competitive element than a straight up competitive mode. After all its the side quest still, but with an added leader board element. There is strategy and decision making in terms of how many swaps you do and when you do them, but yes also rng plays its role for sure.
Are you expecting this release this type of game mode on a permanent basis?
That's obviously not what I meant man why do you guys keep missing the point. No amount of money will guarantee you win. A sport's team can spend millions on its players but they will still have to train. No amount of money will outright make you faster, stronger, or bigger. You can't buy shoes that make you kick harder or run faster. In BGs you can literally pay to become stronger without having to put any effort.
What makes you think your skills will be better than those who have already beaten all endgame content lol get good, grow your account and stop crying.
You're wasting time talking to these people. They don't want competitive MCOC, they want casino poker. Anyhow, I tried this mode just now, and it's obviously just a fun silly no-skill candy crush type of mode. I'm not against it, even though the rewards are pretty insane for what it is. Regardless, if it keeps the forum Eeyores like OP and Beastdad happy and away from the serious threads, then kudos to Kabam. I see nothing wrong with MCOC having a kid's menu and an adult menu.
It's just annoying seeing this person whining about the same thing every week lol as if his skills alone were enough to put him up there with the people who currently can keep up with the whales even with minimal spending. There is no such thing as top players are only big spenders, which is what he's always implying.
Anyways yeah I agree rewards are insane considering the amount of effort required but I do have an issue with that personally, why is the easiest ranked game mode dropping insane rewards compared to every other ranked game mode in the game? It makes absolutely no sense to me. Then the other thing is the whole thing being a massive slog, every fight is basically an arena fight and it's just tedious and boring.
Have you looked at how the scoring work, buddy? Itβs who plays the most, not who plays the best. Although Iβm sure youβre about to tell us that youβve pioneered a strategy that guarantees 900 points every round, right?
I think the mode is fine and Iβm sure some people find it to be a low-engagement alternative to arenas. But to champion it as the COMPETITIVE mode weβve all been waiting for is just laughable.
I never said it was the competitive mode we have all been waiting for. I just said it was an actual fair competitive mode.
BGs isn't about who played the best, it's about who has the better roster and who drafted better. You can't pay your way to the top in the new mode but you definitely can in BGs.
It's obvious you are not reading what I'm writing and just want to hate.
You can't pay your way to the top of BGs, y'know. Do you play BGs? If you get anyway into GC you'll see just how many whales there are hardstuck in the low ranks because they have more money than skill.
BGs is highly reliant on skill AND your roster. This new mode is only reliant on rng and time/energy spent grinding. And it isn't competitive, you're just grinding for rewards with a ranked reward system as a bonus. Calling it competitive would be like calling summoner advancement a competitive event.
So we finally discovered what you believe to be competitive. Totally RNG-based, grind-focused content. Got it. Please spare us any future posts from you about BGs.

The plan is more that we'll have more variety in side quests and be able to swap between more diverse varieties. Want to combat the current status of side quests feeling a little stale and repetitive.
But the new event gets stale and repetitive after you figure out what's expected and do it once. And also it lacks any fighting mechanics, but has all the new type of card interactions that probably took noticable time to code. I'd rather play something like that thing for top progression level where you swap champs every 3 fights. Add some rng there, like start with a limited deck like bg and give selection of 3 champs from 5-8 and then lock used champs for several 3 fights sections with random nodes or defenders. Or just challenging fights with objectives like it was for suffering season. Or just say that this month sq is arena, imo it would be somewhat similar to the new mode (I never play arena except since special events)
And thats fair feedback! Ultimately gotta try things and see what folks think. Seeing lots of positive reception once folks are able to play it but also want to get this kind of constructive feedback too to make it better!
This is an amazing game mode, yes, and all summoners liked a lot.
Hope Kabam add to the game from now on ...
With 1 stars and 3 stars will be awesome too!
But, if we have something like this up to four to seven stars ,no other game will match Marvel Contest of Champions π₯³

Did this donut really just ask for a bunch of max sig 7* for free towards the end? LMFAOOOOAOAAISJ
That mode its just trash. Its great for non skill players who log in once a day to play some poker **** instead of playing arenaβ¦ but for sure its much more fun than bgs even when i have 15xr4π

And how exactly do you know all summoners loved it? Newsflash, you don't. Don't go speaking for everyone and stick to yourself.
It is fun, it does not take a lot of time, and the rewards are decent. Who cares about anything else?
Fun? What's fun about fighting 2* with no nodes lol
I actually find it extremely fun. Donβt have to grind super hard to get something done. Just a quick in and out. After a long day at work some mindless fun like this is extremely satisfying. I know wall have our own opinions and in mine so much of this game is grindy and a time intensive sweat fest so a mindless quick mode is nice change. At least in my opinion.
I love mcoc, and I love poker, albeit I play Holdem and Omaha, rather than 5 card draw, but hey, 2 of my favourite things together in one game? I'll take it. It's quick and easy, better than arena, a good energy dump and with some luck maybe I'll hit the royal flush more times than I ever have in real life, which has only been once in holdem, and woild have had it once in Omaha had u not folded post flop π
It's fun as hell, hopefully it comes back soon after this iteration of it is done.

I'm a nurse and I work 12 your shifts, I don't find the game grindy at all, not even close.

"your ability to come up with strategies" LOLLLLLLL!!! Did you just call RNG skill ? Bruh I need freakin liquid luck from Slughorn for this casino mode

I'm at 40k points already. I've found a method that almost always gets you 900 points per round. Yes, the mode does have strategies to optimize the amount of points you earn even with the rng element. If you don't understand what your supposed to be looking for you're just going to end up getting lone wolf every single time unless you randomly get lucky.

If only you could find a way to strategize and optimize your gameplay in BGs when you go up against whales in the same way you do it on this game mode like you claim lol.
This is better as a side quest that rotates every few months. If Kabam made this a permanent feature, you can bet that entry cost will change from energy into other currencies or even units lol.

Technically it already costs units if you want to get on the leaderboard but I doubt most players need to. It would be nice if Kabam could let us use elder marks for this mode since I would rather play this than Roster Grounds π

its an amazing game mode , I like it and a step n the right direction, maybe it could replace arena too
I guess I don't understand the purpose of the actual fighting in the game mode as a side quest. It's like a super easy arena, which I detest. Has anyone actually lost a match? If we're playing poker, could we just use the 'cards' and skip the fighting (and yes, I know it's a fighting game).
I don't like it one bit. The 10k rng points are ridiculous for a week. Not energy efficient. I have 30+ refills. Let's teach kids poker and how to gamble irl. I have played enough poker in my life already smh.

Be prepared for a new express mode available with Sigil+ for just $19.99
Yet again, kabam can't move away from their legalized gambling machines. They know nothing else from their days of old. Everything is a slot machine hidden as a mobile game, well not hidden anymore. They should basically hold the same regulatory laws and bylaws. Gross company.
Everything about this mode is perfect. You actually made the mode competitive by giving everyone access to the same champs without having to max them out. The only determining factor now is RNG but also your ability to come up with strategies to get the perfect hand.
Now that we have 52 fully maxed out 2 stars, I would like to see a 2 star BGs meta to see how the rankings play out when it is actually competitive and skill based.
Sounds like you lack skill, there is no tactic approach to this game mode it us pure random and zero skill required.
It's abysmal and the fact that we have no choice but to grind it for these top tier rewards is just insanity. No competition, no roster diversity, no skill just pure luck isn't what mcoc is as a game.
βNo skill just pure luck isnβt what mcoc is as a gameβ π Luck is the majority of this game. Itβs a gambling game mostly. You nearly canβt be anymore wrong. This is MCOC weβre talking about. I mostly agreed with your comment until you said that lmao.
Some of y'all are crybabies. Kabam needs to cater everyone, time to time, it's fun to hit easy weak opponents. The game is more than just fighting with champs, there are other aspects in the game as well.
The new mode is awesome, a great mix of rng and strategy, But kabam should really come up with more different kind of teams, and some kind of hack or something to get atleast one of the desired cards/filtering cards to choose from (like shuffle signets in bgs). Basically, more emphasis on strategy and little on rng.
Yesterday I had to 10, 12,13,9 number cards, and another card of number 5. Four of these cards are of same color (one of the consecutive card is diff color). If I got 11, it was. A jackpot, but otherwise it'll be a lonewolf, So I decided to swap the diff color card, and guess what, I got 11. Lol. Screw this game I thought. But yeah it's still fun for me.

100% agree. This is just casino gambling slot machine on a mobile with 2* fights for novelty.
This is the "new mode", I though how creative it could be. The imagination required to make this was: Lets copy poker completely, hide the gambling pov inside 2* fights so we can escape gambling laws.
I Do not care one bit about rank rewards. But getting 10k is an absolute grind. And energy inefficient.
Atlesst real holdem poker require people skills. This game mode only requires pure luck.
Comments
Anyways yeah I agree rewards are insane considering the amount of effort required but I do have an issue with that personally, why is the easiest ranked game mode dropping insane rewards compared to every other ranked game mode in the game? It makes absolutely no sense to me.
Then the other thing is the whole thing being a massive slog, every fight is basically an arena fight and it's just tedious and boring.
1-200
201-500
501-1000
1001-5000
5001-10000
Then do your generic % gates. They also gotta put more stuff in the % brackets, for the time invested or the luck required.
BGs is highly reliant on skill AND your roster. This new mode is only reliant on rng and time/energy spent grinding. And it isn't competitive, you're just grinding for rewards with a ranked reward system as a bonus. Calling it competitive would be like calling summoner advancement a competitive event.
Hope Kabam add to the game from now on ...
With 1 stars and 3 stars will be awesome too!
But, if we have something like this up to four to seven stars ,no other game will match Marvel Contest of Champions π₯³
Ps: I need a 2* Odin Kabam. Help a guy out!
Did you just call RNG skill ? Bruh I need freakin liquid luck from Slughorn for this casino mode
Not energy efficient. I have 30+ refills.
Let's teach kids poker and how to gamble irl.
I have played enough poker in my life already smh.
This is the "new mode", I though how creative it could be.
The imagination required to make this was:
Lets copy poker completely, hide the gambling pov inside 2* fights so we can escape gambling laws.
I Do not care one bit about rank rewards. But getting 10k is an absolute grind. And energy inefficient.
Atlesst real holdem poker require people skills. This game mode only requires pure luck.
