Please explain the thought behind this Kabam

I just can't understand why you guys are introducing these new game modes?

Mcoc Poker and Turn based autorun, they take away from the core of MCOC for the last 10-years of building your skill, expanding your roster and these game modes come away from this completely.

I feel like something like this might be a good if the rest of the game wasn't flawed; we still have input issues from 4 years ago you never fixed, an overtuned AI that can skip frames, recover exceptional fast and is still ringing the game. Not to mention the promises to add variety to Batllegrounds, that game mode that hasn't changed since it was released 2 years ago.

How much resources and money went into these modes that could have been put into improving the game? Nobody asked for this, everybody asked for a properly working game

They are trying to introduce these modes to replace the side quests. Right now they are testing but I guess their vision is one month its poker, the next its dimensional arcade, and so forth

But this arcade mode requires tickets to purchase? And the Poker game has ranked rewards both incentives spending money/units to progress or to achieve top rewards when SQ and EQ have always been fully achievable rewards

Both new modes don't fit with this game. I feel like there was a lot of time wasted adding these modes when there are still a ton of bugs to fix. We have enough game modes, kabam just needs to pay attention to them and buff rewards to make them worth playing.

I'm enjoying the card game, and others are as well. It's another layer of enjoyment. Not for everyone but not all things are.

You get all the usual rewards... just think of the ranking as bonus to reach for. Theoretically you are getting all the mysterium, shards, and catalysts you usually get. And the tickets are just to speed up the event they are not required

So couple of things here, first as others have said this is another experiment, like force recruitment, trying out new and novel ways to make interesting limited time content like our side quests which pretty much everyone agrees had gotten a bit stale/boring. So gotta try out new things and tweak and improve. As for dev resources, the nice thing about these two new modes is that the impact was relatively minor and just not having them would not have impacted the issues in other modes the way you might think. Its not a one to one stop doing this and focus on that.

Ultimately the core of MCOC is a game we love and we're not moving away from it, we just want to add fun new ways to engage with the game in addition to that core.

I’ve really been enjoying these side games that have out of the ordinary mechanics to them. Dimensional Arcade especially brings me back to the flash games I used to play while pretending like I was paying attention in class.

I do think that it seems over-aggressively monetized. To get all of the rewards, you need to clear the story (8 entry tokens) and clear shatter mode 25 times (25 more entry tokens). That’s a total of 33. The tokens refresh every 24 hours. Is that three per day or only one? If it’s three, that’s not terrible. If it’s only one… that’s not good.

I discovered the hard way that it is extremely easy to accidentally exit mid run because of the big X button on the top of the screen. There also needs to be a way to review the perks you’ve picked up mid run. I took one that gave me a “random rare drop,” but I had no way of learning what that drop was. Not ideal.

Anyway, I really enjoy it. I could see myself sinking real time into a silly mode like this. But it’s got a *lot* of rough edges right now in need of smoothing.

But if that's the case and these are 'new and exciting' versions of EQ,SQ then why is it so heavily monetised?

This doom bot thing has one shot a day unless just spend straight up monies to go again? And there's zero skill, I couldn't get through quest 4 because I'm champion died so now I do nothing with it that's just boring

And there's zero chance whoever wins these High Evolutionary are free to play, saw one guy spend 300 energy refills.

Both game modes require money to play, that's not EQ or SQ and never has been so what's the plan?

To expand on what Pinwheel said above, most of the issues you list (input problems, overtuned AI, defender reaction time, skipped frames). are gameplay engineering problems. There were zero gameplay engineering resources spent on the Recruitment and Doom Cycle modes.

    Three free entries per day.

I take back whay I said on resources being moved etc but the game modes themselves are terrible.

No real engagement, massive rng aspect, no consideration for the players skill level or roster, heavy monetization

I thought you were realising something based on prestige not whatever this idea is

    That's the event quest...

And on top of this Crashed, you're in 4loki, I fought you last season, you're one of the players at the top of the game you really wanted this to be introduced? This is how you want to spend time in the game? 😂
