Giantwalrus56Giantwalrus56 Member Posts: 1,466 ★★★★
As the title says, I'm not 5, I'm substantially older,. That aside, I'm in an alliance that doesn't do raids so I have absolutely no idea how to play? Curious to try. Any explanation would be really effin appreciated

The solo raids are just nodes till final boss, when your fighting the boss it tells you to hit them with mediums, light or heavy. It will change so pay attention to what it says. Striking with what it's asking adds more damage over time. It's no easy feet you have to be skilled for the boss fight. The Champion is the boss out the he was over a million in champions points, it took me about 10 - 15 to beat him down.

The rewards for solo raid are refined Xp and a raid ticket
The fight itself is to do some commands/actions and in doing so you gain same charges that helps deal more damage, same as the grand master in act 6

It's not a new piece of content, so don't get too excited about it. Literally just a testing grounds for champ and role boost combos so you can test if your choices will work prior to entering real raids. Once it's intro period ends there won't be any of these "rewards" with it.

The first fight you do decides which RAID buff you have.

The second fight decides which RAID node the boss has.

    You then fight the boss.

Bonus if you complete the objective.

    Thanx (!)
Sooo…there will be no relevant rewards and I just wasted time on some bs (?!?)…
On the same boat, but I'll take the 1k refined xp.
    Otherwise i'd never enter this.

But those raid tickets man... Do it everyday for a whole month and you will have almost 15% of the next raid cost covered.

Way better than them adding realm points to offseason battleground daily objectives. I was determined to collect every single free realm event point available, but these I'm going to let go. Need the week break after a whole season of grinding or else I'll hate BGs.

If you grabbed every f2p point until now, considering compensation given and most likely some future comp you should be fine.
I don't mind doing 1 match a day during off season. This solo raid is trash.

It's useful for testing new champ and hack combos before going into real raids.

Doesn't really feel worth it for a single raid ticket and a bit of xp

There are 3 types of champs - tactician, vanguard, and assault. For the Solo Raids, this does not matter all that much. The type of champ you choose will open one of the three initial paths. Selection of your first fight locks in a Raids Boost. The Boost does not have any real impact on that first fight, it is for the boss fight. The Boost allows you to build Raid Fervor faster in the boss fight (more on Fervor below) via some task that varies depending on the Boost.

Your second fight locks in your Raids Mission. The Raids MIssion does not have any real impact on the second fight, it is for the boss fight. Each mission requires a different task to build Raid Fervor during the boss fight. Once you build up 50 Raid Fervor in the boss fight, you complete the mission and get a Role Charge. You build up Role Charges in the boss fight to dramatically increase your damage. You need the Raids Boost in order to build up Raid Fervor faster as you complete Raid Missions, to get Role Charges faster, to do more damage and end boss fight quicker. Some of the tasks in Raids Boosts correlate with those of Raids Missions, so if you select carefully, you can build Fervor very quickly and efficiently.

It all sounds complicated, but once you do a few Raids it will make more sense.

I have a belly button; but why do you need to build flavor?
