Forgot to equip a relic before Cerastes in the Crucible. Do I seriously need to restart this?

To the best of my knowledge, you can’t defeat Cerastes without a relic, but being forced to start over for something so stupid after 47 fights seems like a really poorly designed piece of content. Honestly just hoping for some admin help, at this point.
