Bastion reversed controls and gwenmaster 7.2.6 boss fight

So I took a break from mcoc and after about two years I’m back and looking to get paragon title. I’m mad I didn’t do this earlier because the roster I had has melted act 7 so far.
I recently got 6* bastion and he is r4 and sig 40.
A lot of ppl have stopped playing so I see a lot of older content for the questions I have for the quest but newer champs arnt included obviously.

So as I’m preparing to fight gwenmaster should I go in expecting bastion to b immune to reverse controls or does his shielding not start at beginning of the match.

Also any suggested newer champs I should rank up that you wish u had when u did act 7.

I appreciate any feedback or tips. I have 700 free crystals and I’m full on revs and potions plus 1k units. Id rather beat this boss through skill and not items ya kno.

Shielding is not the same as immune. You need someone that specifically says reverse controls immune. Wiccan is usually my go to for reverse controls.

Good comms. Appreciate the reply. I just asked google the same question I did last night and got a diff answer. It said yes last night now this is the reply.. ‘No, Bastion is not inherently immune to inverted controls in Marvel Contest of Champions; the immunity provided by his #Psychic Shielding tag only applies to specific abilities, such as those from Emma Frost or certain nodes that cause true "mind control". While some players have reported issues where Inverted Controls still affect him despite the tag, this is either a misunderstanding of the #Psychic Shielding ability's specific function or a bug in the game’.

So with that being said would he work for Gwenmasters ‘Emma phase’? And good comms on Wiccan. I have him just unleveled. I do have sinister pro x and Emma at r2 6s I can take up if needed.

I just found a Emma frost dual and bastion most def isn’t immune lol. I’ll have to use another champ. Was hoping to not have to rank anyone for it but oh well.
