Feels like Kabam is playing 4D chess here
Out of the blue, they announce the new CCP 2.0 along with the creator codes.
This happened coincidentally the day before this update dropped, which has been the most controversial one in a while that I can remember.
And I believe today, they're releasing the Sword and Stone 'sales'.
There's already been a lot of discussion in the community about the integrity of content creators receiving financial gain that is more so directly tied to Kabams success in monetization, and if this will influence the content they make and their opinions.
I think these next few days will show how much of that is true. So far, I've seen one video covering the new EQ (RichTheMan), when in the past, more noise has been made about less.
Will be interesting to see how many make videos covering the deals and huge openings over the next 24 hours. It does very much feel like a case of creators not wanting to bite the hand that feeds them now (not literally, I know for most this is a side hustle).
I could be (and hope I am) completely wrong. I've been playing this game for 9 years now and obviously want to see it succeed but there really needs to be a lot more quick, clear and concise communication from Kabam when making such drastic changes to the game. Not just show us the best, ideal scenario on a livestream or wait for a forum thread to start and then hop in.
TL,DR: With Creator Codes, creators have more to gain by prioritising showing off new deals instead of covering game issues.
