content creator 2.0 grievances

I watch youtubers like everyone else whether its mcoc noob or whoever, and its great kabam now made it so they can get a chunk of the money we spend. the thing I don't like is the creators don't do anything special when it comes to us choosing to buy things from any of the stores, so why should I put a code in to give money to someone that had nothing to do with my purchase while I get nothing? I know it's a small thing, but with everything else they have done this still bugs me a little. if they somehow had anything to do with purchases I could understand this. if i want to support a creator then I'll buy merc or donate directly to them, not buy from kabam so they get a tiny percent.

I mean, I was gonna buy something anyway so I looked up Cat Murdock's code and put it in. She's helped me with graphics for years so why not. I would not recommend buying something just to put in someone's code. Not sure why it's a big deal to you, but do your thang.

Think of it this way then: pretend a company has a set aside (or "allocated") annual ad budget set and approved by a parent corporation prior to the current fiscal year. Pretend then that this company decides to use its allocated ad budget on web/ YouTube/print ads and, in this case, content creator engagement kickback. For the company, it's low risk/ high reward as it puts the onus on the cc to drive numbers for their own benefit and perhaps gets a tad more game engagement than before. Your "money" then is more likely to be burned in the web browser ads which are paid for up front than any kickback MCOC Noob might get in fiscal Q4. Happier?

I suspect you misunderstand how this works then. This isn't a tip jar, this is a referral program, like the endless Use Our PromoCode To Let Them Know Who Sent You you find Everywhere Else In The Entertainment Sphere. They don't get a cut of your Sigil you purchase using their promo code. Hope that clears some things up.

Why is Kabam requiring us to input a CC code before we can make a purchase on the webstore?

What if (for whatever reason) we don't want Kabam to give a percentage of our purchase to any CC?

We should still be allowed to make purchases. The fact that we can't is total BS.

It's a way you can support your favorite YouTubers. If you don't want to, that's entirely up to you. Personally if I like someone's content and they get something from me typing a code, I can spare the finger energy.

i think its just simply to support someone you like with no additional cost. For example, if you were gonna buy something anyways, and you have a youtuber you want to support then imput their code. I do agree on the basis that it is stranger then it usually is, typically these types of creator codes give like a 10% discount to incentivise a products sale, but i guess kabam just doesn’t have the financial flexibility to do that.

Hold on, so if you don't have to support any CC and the whole thing is 100% optional, then why would anyone be upset about this? Is it just like the whole "if I'm not getting a benefit then no one should get a benefit" mindset? So in other words, just general resentment and envy?
