Old content barely ever gets updated (aside from story content). For the back issues/Variants, they've abandoned those, so I don't think we'll ever see a reward update. Same goes for Labyrinth, Abyss, etc.
For a company to abandon its own content. It's a terrible mistake. It shows how incapable it is of managing its own content. That's why it's happening now with new events. Because anything old is abandoned. Soon, EVERYTHING will be abandoned. After all, what has value? The effort made?
Why do you do the content when you know the rewards are outdated in the first place?
Its old content. Same as RoL or Labyrinth. There's nothing saying you have to do it. If you want to do it, do it knowing your doing either out of boredom or the experience. The only content kabam is gonna update rewards like this is story
And that makes sense because you HAVE to do story to earn your progression titles.
Wake me when it actually happens.
Some stuff doesn’t get updated because it isn’t intended to be. Realm of Legends is unlikely to get updated, because it’s there for people to do if they choose. New players join the game all the time, we can’t change all the old content to adapt it for the veterans because that’s not its purpose. Same with the variant missions. It should be obvious we’re never going to update Classic difficulty because it’s not intended to be: it’s there in a sense so people can see what that used to look like just for fun. Variant could in theory be updated, but it is simply not a priority to do so as its optional content.
The devs have updated content when it was relevant to do so. They updated the lower Story arc content, because the current state of the game and the reward system was such that it didn’t make as much sense for that content to remain as it was when it first launched. They’ve already updated the content or rewards for Acts 1 through 5, and announced they are working on Act 6. Furthermore, they have updated monthly EQ several times, most recently literally this month when they released adaptive difficulty. Regardless of what people think about that, you can’t accuse Kabam of not revisiting or updating older content when it comes to monthly EQ.
It is easy to pick on one small part of the game and cry foul and claim the sky is falling. Oh no, they’ve “abandoned” Variant content, soon everything will be abandoned, dogs and cats will be living together, and the game will end. But the truth is Kabam is changing things all the time, sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse, but it is a massive distortion of the truth to claim that they are just abandoning things, and that this is a pattern that has any chance at all of becoming the norm. The opposite is far closer to the truth. Updates may happen slower than some would like, but most things in this game have changed over time. The few things that haven’t, and seem unlikely to ever do so, either generally have good reasons for not changing or are simply not a priority compared to far more important things.
I'm sorry, but I disagree if you... This content has existed for years. And I believe that there was never a possibility, nor any meeting minutes, of any change to the topics I mentioned. Of course, the company didn't abandon the game. After all, there have been several monthly events since the beginning. Several new champions since the beginning. And that's a difficult job, I have no doubt about that. But I have doubts about what is truly considered fair play, according to the company. And I explained why above. I said doubt, not that it practices injustice.
