So you’re saying my pulls could have been different because Zola wasn’t there?

I opened 12 titans and 1 Nexus the odds are going to be WAY different with 23 champions pool vs 24

I could have duped my Zola or pulled different champions instead.

This is crazy, because I got 5 out of 6 champions.

I could have gotten Carolina lol even with worst odds of 24 champions in the pool vs 23.

That’s just my thoughts and I wanted to post it here. I just keep thinking my pulls would of been way different…better OR worst.

Its the principle of things the pool was 23 and it SHOULD of been 24 regardless

My 13 crystals should be compensated imo.
Because the Titan “should” have 24 not 23 champions.

We didn’t opened these crystals just because of pool of 23.

Yes, your pulls would have been different if the crystal reward table was set correctly. They would have also been different had they set them correctly but just sorted the reward table differently. They would have been different had there been no downtime last month. Because you spent time posting this, all your future pulls will be different. Your pulls depended on the index order of the reward table, the starting seed of the random number generator, precisely who else is opening crystals at the same time and how many, and (most likely) the inputs to the server entropy pool. Literally opening your crystals one second later changes what the drops would have been.

But these are all unknowables, and there’s no way to change reality to be what it would have been otherwise. There’s a generally accepted methodology for determining how to compensate someone for a potential loss that works in business and in the law, it’s the principle of expected return. If someone destroys your lottery ticket, you can’t say well, I could have won the jackpot but now we’ll never know so you owe me thousands of dollars. No one will agree to that. Instead, you can get back one of two things. You can say we’ll get back what you paid for the ticket. Or, you can get the expected return. If there’s one in a million chance to win $500,000, then the expected return is 50 cents, and that’s what you’d receive for damages.

In this case, the actual return for all other champs besides Zola was slightly higher than it should have been - because with only 17 champs in the crystal everyone got a slightly higher chance of getting any one of them per crystal - but with Zola the actual return was obviously lower than intended, because the actual return was zero. So the compensation, within practical limits, addresses that directly. It offers a choice between selecting Zola or selecting another random crystal. For the vast majority of players, their actual statistical return will be higher than it was intended to be for all other champs. Only for players who a) opened more than 18 Titans and b) actually wanted more than one Zola pull will their statistical return be lower than intended in any way they care about. And only for players who opened more than 27 Titans will that divergence be high enough to round to an addressable amount. For everyone else, the compensation in statistical economic terms puts them better off than they would have been otherwise.

In actuality, now that we know the actual results of the crystals, some players would likely do better and some worse with a hypothetical do-over. But that’s only because in effect those players have the benefit of information they should never have: knowing what future drops would have been. You can’t accept that information, then say you were worse off and demand compensation after seeing them, just because they didn’t go your way. Asking for a do-over is only fair if you don’t yet know what the results would be. That’s why you can refund crystals you haven’t opened yet, but not ones you have.
