Will Deathless Champions and Champions like them be ascendible?

I’m not sure if this was asked anywhere, but if duping a champion is required for ascension, which I think that’s what’s going on (please feel free to clarify anyone if I’m wrong) but in the case that is how it’s gonna go, will Deathless Champions and the new chase champions like Star Lord Andre. Doom be able to be ascendable in a free to play way through content or at all?
