No rank down tickets!

I haven’t been playing the game much because of the holidays and spending time with friends and family. I don’t understand why there was such a limited window (apparently between December 25th @ 18:00:00 UTC - December 27th @ 18:00:00 UTC) to collect the rank down tickets that were offered! Why can we not have received them until they expire? I feel like I’m being punished for spending time with my family!
