My Crystal Stopped Early

About 15 minutes ago I opened a Premium Hero Crystal. I stopped it by myself and I was going to get a 4 Star Magik. But then it stopped early on a 2 Star Hawkeye. I know how many times it skips before it lands on the Champion you get. I want my Magik.

Evidence for this claim, please? It's RNG, we know that much, but champ already chosen right on spinning? Or does RNG apply right at the beginning of opening and the rest of the reel is just to make you more drawn into sunk cost fallacy and/or gambler's fallacy?
Riiiiight? It's almost impossible to find a thread that wasn't posted 30 seconds ago or sooner.
This literally took me under a minute to find with my outdated iPad 2 on Google (I searched 'crystal spinning mcoc'). As shown in the link, moderators have in the past confirmed that the way you open your crystals, by spinning or popping them directly, leads to the same result. The 'spin' animation is just eye-candy, it doesn't matter if there was a 4* Hyperion to your right or a 2* Black Bolt to your left, the result is determined as soon as you spin it.
However, if the animation lands on X character and you get Y character, that is a visual bug and should be reported to the forums or support for reference and eventually, a fix.
