special not connecting

Hi all,
Been playing on and off for a couple of years.
In the last month or so, MLLLM or MLLL into specials 1 or 2 does not connect for me on any of star lord, hawkeye, captain America, Howard, cyclops (nxs), magneto, quake or elektra. No matter how quickly I spam the special button. Haven't tried specials on wolverine or marvel for months, but would assume it's the same for them.
Playing on a Sony, running android.
As a side note, magneto also misses medium and light attacks on loads of characters after they finish a five hit combo, or on evade heavy and dash forward, especially the hulks. I.e red hulk hitting while magneto blocks, magneto tries to hit back and misses.
Is this happening to anyone else?
