Beast Freestyle Not Working

I've been using Beast in arenas lately and whenever I do the freestyle combo, the first hit does not do the bonus physical damage. Basically, the number 1 will pop up in the circle, but I don't see any tick of his damage from his sig. All the other hits do the bonus damage. Would appreciate if this could be looked into.
