lags after update, phone feels like burning after only a few minutes playing

I saw a lot complaints about lags for months but I am feeling like this 17.2 is whole new level.
My phone overheats rapidly in just 10 minutes of playing, and performance drops drastically.
It's taking over 20 seconds to load a fight then another 20+ seconds to exit a fight... Cannot evade or block properly in fight. Even the champ selection screen goes unresponsive.

I am using Iphone 6, ios 11.x (I hope it's not my phone being too old)

    Im on 5s and this only started with this latest update. Hopefully it will get better after the schedule maintenance tomorrow
