Dark artifact misunderstanding

Earlier today I spent 18,000 dark artifacts on two 4 star crystals after noticing they were expiring. I had hoped to save up for a 5 star crystal but didn’t want to lose them all. To my surprise the dark artifacts were not expiring but that round of crystals was. Is there any way to get my 18,000 dark artifacts back? I put so much work into earning them.
