4* cable or wait for a better 4* mutant champion

I say wait. Cable isn't bad, but AA, Iceman or Rogue are all better. But it really depends on if you need an upgraded champ at the moment too.

Cable isn’t bad. Sure he’s not the best out there but he’s not bad. I’d say level him up if you like playing him.

Offensively, cable's damage output is kind of weak and he doesn't have any super great abilities that make him good for questing. I'll try to break it down-
1. 25% chance for regen every time you fill a power bar- actually pretty strong regen, but not reliable for difficult fights. Also stops working after cable has fallen below a certain amount of health
2. if awakened, he has a chance for power gain as well- pretty weak, and coupled with regens will not fare well against mystic dispersion in war
3. sp2 deals concussion and incinerate- not too bad, but again in situations where you actually need concussion, landing an sp2 can be tricky at times
4. sp3 grants true strike- nice, but also kind of difficult to use. if ur fighting a spiderman, you probably wouldn't bring a cable, because you would have to land a sp2 or sp3, and even then the concussion/true strike doesn't last that long. Same if ur fighting modok, electro, etc.
5. when u have true strike, sp1 is unblockable
6. when cable bleeds or if he lands a heavy attack, he causes degen- this is a pretty cool ability, especially for defense

Because the materials to rank up 4 stars are pretty easy to come by right now, you are better off ranking him up even though he isn't the best mutant. Ranking him up will make it easier for you to get more 4 stars and access to more materials for ranking them up quicker.

He's a much better defender, probably the best counter to blade and also difficult to fight in general for most.
