Weakness out of nowhere in new event

I noticed several times that enemies would randomly get the weakness debuff. It didn’t matter what champ I used or who I faced. One it was falcon, another time was Hawkeye. Bossman had it once as well.

I noticed that if you're fighting one of those nodes in the Massacre and the Mercs for Money where you have to fight with the class disadvantage or you suffer -50% attack, you get that same symbol as a passive effect if you don't match the criteria. Not an actual debuff because it doesn't give you Willpower heal and you can't throw it off with KP or AV etc. Wonder if it's related to that in some way.
