Is the Current 5 Star Featured Crystal Worth It?

Currently I have a little over enough shards for the basic but I don't know if I should go for it in next SA or save up for the featured. So what should I do?

How many 5*s do you already have?

If you already have at least 3 or 4 decent 5* champs, then by all means try your luck. But if you only have 1 or 2, then just go basic.
Keyword: Decent. By that I mean at least low demigod.

I personally don't think any crystal is worth 500 extra 5* shards, but that's just me. Mainly because I'm cheap.

there's still a chance you can get crappy champs that might not be worth the extra 5000 5* shards. but if you have a pretty solid 5* roster it's worth it.
