4* Featured Arena: Insight and Tips

I have been playing since early 2015, so im fairy seasoned. I took a hiatus just before 5* release and rejoined in November of 2016.
It wasnt until June last year that I began my runs in the arena, for the 3* Carnage at the time. Since then i began doing all the 3* runs I could and I knew it was about 1.5 million every run to get 1-10% for the prize.
Now 3* is only 900k minimum.
In the past 6 months I have been in the 4* Basic arena and have learned its about 2.5-4 million, depending on who it is.
Now, im planning on taking a shot at the 4* Featured in the coming months.
I know the prize ranges from 12-15 million and i just want to know if the top 800 is worth aiming for.
Are the top 800 just cash whales who spam units to revive thier teams over and over? Or is there a chance at obtaining just by maintaining a steady rate like the 3* and 4*B arenas?
