Question about switching alliances

Just a quick one.
If I left alliance 1 at (example times) 8pm to join alliance 2, but alliance 1 war doesn’t end until 10pm, if alliance 2 starts matchmaking at 9pm would I be able to participate in alliance 2 wars assuming I’m there when war matchmaking finds an opponent?

    I might be wrong but I believe you would have to wait a day before joining AW.

    Definitely wouldn’t have to wait a day, but I’m not sure if matchmaking would have to be delayed an hour or not

    no, they can matchmake right away. You won't be able to join until your champions are released.

    Same with AQ if you join before they start it, you can join but only after your champions are free from AQ in the previous ally if still locked in the map.
