5vs5 Arenas? A saviour to the current state of arenas or bad idea?

I really believe these can help make arenas fun again and bring some competitiveness back in arenas. Back in 2015, they were a pleasant addition to the game but was plagued with issues. But I have faith now

Only if the infinite streak begins at round 5-7. I can't imagine 15 rounds of 5 fights in a row just to get an infinite streak.

Exactly. It'll make getting an infinite streak a big thorn to the side.

Apart from a moderate buff to their rewards, the current arenas aren't in need of a savior - much less one that would make arenas consume even more time. No, a better option would be for them to replace the premium shards with featured premium shards for that week's champions - similar to what they did with two batches last month. Then the uncollected and cavalier summoners can quit whining about all the 2*s they're being forced to pick up.

Why would it make rounds to Streak 15 more difficult ? (Unless you are talking about just how many heroes overall you will be using along the way, thus using up all your highest ones faster ?)

Without running hi/hi/low unbalanced, you could be tripped up currently using same-strength teams if you happen to mess up in 2 of the fights. But if bringing 5 man arena teams you’d be able to mess up twice and still keep the streak (better chance at winning 3 of 5, than just winning 2 of 3).

And for Unbalanced method, you could probably pull down the opponent’s overall rating a little bit lower with 3 HI, 2 LO, that what you can now. Currently your single low rated sacrifice only affects 33% of the overall team rating, but with 5-Man teams your 2 low rated ones would affect 40% of the overall team rating so opponents might even be a little easier with 5-Man arena.

Or you could do a combination of Unablanced and Same-Strength, and just bring 1 LO out of the 5. Would pull down opponent rating (not quite as much) but you'd have a “safety net” fight available just in case you lose one of those higher hero fights.

    What's featured premium shards?

A 5v5 would just be a 3v3 with a longer ramp up to infinite streak, what would be the point?

Last month, they were shards that could be exchanged for the Unified crystals. In this case, they would be exchangeable for Featured crystals, whose primary champion is the Featured of that Thu-Wed week and the secondary is the Basic that week.
