No. Ppl use them for AW's. Tier 7 & up takes away the class of the champs. AW maps are the only place you really gain anything from those masteries.

Well it is a war, an alliance event. You need to work as a team, working as a team is recognizing that some players are better than others at certain things. When we have AQ and AW up at the same time we usually have one person join war at the end, when his best guys are finished with AQ so he can use them to take out the boss in wars. If you dont want your best boss killer to take the first shot at the boss then you wont be winning too many wars...well...not anymore lol
Good grief 2 more minis of the same power and your not changing rewards this is just ridiculous, so now all BGs need even more boss killers and the specific set of champs to take them down.
You've lost touch with reality seriously
This is the ONLY counterpoint I have seen that is semi-valid. Let's be honest, the vast majority of defender kills in wars outside of tier 1 come from two tiles--boss and top miniboss. A few get sprinkled in on middle mini and right mini and then occasionally there are a few more throughout. I totally agree that this change is more of a cash grab than trying to make people feel less bad about dying and hurting their team. But frankly, the alliance with an r4 5* magik on top miniboss and a 5* r4 juggs or dormamu or magik as boss all running max md will get more defender kills than an alliance that doesn't have those champs or doesn't invest in defense. Where the unfairness comes in is when those alliances with those champs are jumping into shell alliances and taking on weaker competition. And those wars aren't about defender kills anyway. The alliance with all the top champs just run over their opponents. You want to make people feel better about wars? How about making prestige a part of war matchups @Kabam Miike

But I agree, this is clearly a pay to win format now, moreso than before. It is what it is.

Yet your still now addressing the issues of having to spend money to win a war. Some of us havent spent a dime and have grown on time skil and dedication i feel this i real BS..and the fact you didnt adress the fact of having to fight magik dorm 6 times which is pointless to do wars once the release comes out. Is kabam and marvel trying to lose fans or gain them cause it looks one sided to (lose fan) for greedy purposes

Do you even play? Because most people don't really stop after one or all of they're team are knocked out they keep playing unless there's a enemy that they can not beat so in reality this whole statement doesn't make sense to me.
Again it's bs an a blatant cash grab, even if you just keep saying it's not intended to but from our perspectives it is intended that way.
Even more so when you consider the state of your game and the lack of response from kabam on said issues some of which were said to be "fixed " or promised to be fixed when neither is true.

But please tell me how this new format fixes these issues (issues I am simply trying to remind you of which seem to be common threads here on the forum):
1. Unfair war matches (it seems like daily we have alliances posting pictures in new threads where they draw matches against opponents with two or three times their war rating
2. Rewards for defeat that truly do not satisfy the cost-benefit rule as it relates to many members of many alliances. I spend hard earned units on potions and revives to explore 90% of a map and drop their boss but we still lose and I get less 5* shards than if I would have invested those units in grinding arena. BTW this is why there are so many instances of unfair war matches because the unfair rewards have people in tier 1 AW alliances swapping to shell alliances.
3. Cheating (goes along with the explanation above).
4. Crafting and using strategy for war placement. Defender kills was what allowed you to feel good that sometimes even in tough losses that you hurt the other team by placing the right defender on the right node. It was something of a mark that even if you lost the war you might have won the battle.
