Restoration bug in MCOC?

This happened with me yesterday and I can’t wrap my head around it. My 2k 3 star hero crystal shards got restored right after I formed and opened the crystal. The four baskets for Epic Acornucopia also got restored right after I finished a single Epic run, meaning I did two Epic runs in a single day and also got a free 3 star crytal in the same day. Is this a bug? Has anyone else experienced it?
