So if I used i mutant rank 5 gem from variant for namor do I get back the gem or generic resources? Hard to tell from all the discussions, a visual representation of each scenario would be helpful and easy to put together please.

    You get back exactly what you put in (as far as I've understood it). You'll get a mutant gem back, and any Sig stones you put into Namor will come back as either Mutant or generic (depending on what you used).
