Thing to rank 5? (I will only use him in variant 2 probably)

Hi, very soon I can rank up my 4th r5.
I`m cavalier, 100% var 3 & 4. Have a champ ready for labyrinth (ghost) and my next goal is variant 2 100%.
I was thinking about taking up thing to run through variant.
But taking him up to r5 will only be for variant. Because I do not really like him otherwise.
So I`m wondering if the r4 to r5 will make a huge difference when going for 100%. Or is the difference is only minor.

I also have Nick Fury and Venom who I really like. And a 6* Angela who I also like.

What are your experiences and thoughts?

    He is fully capable of destroying v2 at r4...I did my exploration with my 6* r1 thing and he was destroying everything under 30 hits... although I would love to R2 my thing if I ever dupe him but if u don't like playing with him then u don't have to R5 him for v2...but having said that he is one of the most forgiving champs once duped and his unique immunities give him a lot of value
