Here’s an idea: your first three 6-star pulls should be Nexus crystals. After that you’re back to the 130-champ pool.
Imagine all the crystals only had 3 champs in the pool.
You buy 2 regular crystals. You would have a 1/6 chance of pulling and duping that same character, the character you want.
You buy a Nexus crystal, and you essentially have a 100% chance at pulling and duping that champion.
If you widen the pool to 10 champs, you have 1/100 chance for the regular crystals, and 9/100 chance for the Nexus crystals to pull and dupe.
So based on the increase in probability, it would make sense for the crystals to be at least the price of a featured, or even higher.
I quit Map 6 (too many log ins, man has to sleep) and AW (work/reward ratio off) months ago to take a break, hoping for Kabam to make improvements squashing bugs and designing more enjoyable content. Still hasn't happened. Game is stale.
I've heard Kabam say it all over 5 years of playing, have had hope that things will change, and here we are on the same carrousel. Hope Kabam can pull out of this nosedive.
There’s no reason you couldn’t easily do a rotating 20+ champ Avengers, X-Men, Spiderverse or Villains crystal (just to name a few options). In each of those categories, there are tons of mid-tier champs, some great champs and some not-so good champs.
Set the cost around 12.5K shards each and let it roll. If the concern is that large accounts would buy droves of them in an effort to obtain/dupe a handful of very useful champs, then set a limit on the number you can buy every 30ish days just like incursion crystals and the glory store.
I would avoid smaller champ pools in the crystals (for example, Defenders or Champions or Natasha’s Boyfriends or Symbiotes) to maintain a ~single digit % chance of getting any particular champ, but even those smaller groupings could be combined into a 20ish champ crystal. I wouldn’t put any of the champs not in the basic pool in one of these crystals.
Just like suicides and the other systems in game that were broken before 12.0, the RNG crystal system with 130ish champs no longer works in a niche encounter/champ specific game mode environment. Players have been telling the game team that for a long time. At this point, it’s just a matter of listening and implementing.

I have 30 6* and only have 2, sometimes 3, that get used outside of arena. I'm fortunate they are 2 of the best for endgame content. My last 7 pulls have all been garbage.

Then wow. I get your point about 5* being more useful , but taking a screen shot of that roster (with freaking ghost and stealth spider man) as if it shows useless champs was good for a laugh.
You have decent champs who have utility. Gladiator hulk is a beast for map 6 and content, old man is much better after buff, Gwen, masacre, sabretooth after ramp, task if you learn to use him (complicated but fun), Angela is useful and doesn’t need dupe.
Now you do have some major trash too: Bishop (who IMO is the worst champ in the game without his charges), magneto, civil warrior, rhino, both cyclops
I'm not as worried about rewards as some. I don't play any aspect of this game (nor any other for that matter) based on in game rewards. They're band aids imo. Yes it's true rewards matter. I'm not here to say otherwise. But, without addressing the FUNdamental issue, making the game fun, all the shiny prizes in the world won't matter if it ain't fun.

I originally picked this game up because of the marvel name. I know this might come as a shock to the devs but I would much rather play cap or iron man than ghost. I'm emotionally invested in the more iconic marvel characters. I'd never even heard of ghost before this game. I have no ties to her. She's never gonna move the needle, I don't care how op she is.
Rewards absolutely matter. But making better rewards for stuff can only do so much. If the game ain't fun it ain't fun and the same problems will still be there. That's not to say folks shouldn't ask for reward improvements, just keep an eye on the true prize, a more fun game.
You say that like it's a PHC. Lol. Put one out for 30k I guarantee people will opt for it. 3 chances at what you want is better than one.

Aq SHOULD be fun but 5 days of hard terrible fights and setting alarms to finish paths for super horrible rewards?!? I shouldn’t have to leave my alliance every time life gets in the way or a family emergency happens or if I go out of town for a weekend and as an officer I spend days recruiting even if someone wants to stay but can’t participate for a week .. PLEASE KABAAM FIX AQ
