Psilocke Issue

I have a 6* star psilocke so when I read the description of passive ability "psi- charge" I noted that the opponent gains power when hit her and I believed that was the opposite I mean psilocke gains power.
Is that correct or is that an issue? I think there is something wrong since is not fair because that gain power results unfavorable to psilocke ans me as a player.
