Demoralization of Players due to AW

Recently I had a chat in our officer chat to drop our AW BGs to 1 or 2 and make it optional as many of our players are getting demoralized. It is almost a full time job keeping an Alliance running with constant recruiting and keeping those that are there happy. Kabam is making it that much harder when they do things like this. There needs to be a quick and amicable solution to this AW debacle. Now that my gripe is over, how many more alliances are having this same issue?

Same with my alliance. Some are talking about leaving for AQ only alliances or just quitting outright. Thanks Kabam.

So at the start of Season 18, my alliance had 25. 2 left in the middle of the season due to them being sick of war and the game in general. So now we're down to 23. Well towards the end of season 18 3 more left after getting paired with a plat 2 alliance ( we are gold 2). They also had enough of Kabam not communicating. Now we are down to 20 people. We are like ok we can now run 2 bgs without swapping around people. Well 7 more people who were part of another alliance merged with us in Season 16 had enough and all decided to either quit completely or take a huge break from the game. Now we are down to 13. 2 people from the feeder decided to stay and see if the new war layout was decent and maybe bring some fun back to war. Well we all didn't like it and both are taking a huge break from the game. Now are alliance is down to 11 people and we are running map 4. We used to do map 5 but most of our weaker players decided to stay so we now run map 4. We aren't doing war and it seems like it will be like that for a while.

Aside from actually making AW fun and rewarding (which is my preference cause I used to really enjoy it), the next best solution would be if they eliminate the need for loyalty to play AQ. Or, include loyalty among the rewards for playing AQ. That way alliances can choose to not play war if they don't enjoy it and just play AQ if they want. Never understood why AW and AQ had to be linked in this way (have to play one to earn currency to play the other). And yes, I understand that you can purchase tickets without using loyalty, but it's been designed in a way to punish not using a full mix of currencies via scaling cost.

We were discussing reducing AW bgs even before S19 changes were announced. Now, we are discussing if we are gonna be doing any war at all and our alliance has already shifted it's focus towards AQ

As an AW focused alliance it’s becoming more and more difficult to justify our existence.

Its so counterintuitive, lots of people wouldve stayed after seeing the road map, but this new season of war just flushed that joy down the toilet

After this war is over I'm shutting down Wars. I'll encourage everyone to stay offline or at least not make any purchases that will reward Kabam for this new terrible horrible rollout. Although I just spent over 200 units to get through node 23.. and only because thats what our enemy did! I can't compete with unit spending!

yeah my alliance is seriously contemplating its options for the coming season. War sounds like such a great option in the game but in reality, it's now one of the worst options in the game.

I found a great AQ focused alliance last season, and we only do 1-2 BG's of AW for the crazy masochists who enjoy it somehow. My advice is to just find a no-AW alliance

Some of my alliance mate thinking to leave our alliance and trying to find a alliance which don't do war or has less priority.

Yeah talk amongst many alliances is that the aw is on a downward trajectory. It’s gonna crash and burn, people are exhausted and tired of being squeezed for every last penny. The biggest complaints (1) the complexity of these nodes. (2) longer fight clocks because they expect the fights to take longer, which means more damage or block damage potential = more resources with out matching the store items cost and replenish size (3) the background brightness, yet simple still overlooked and shocking that this wasn’t caught by the kabam team prior to release. (4) rewards for plat 4 and below are underwhelming.

So it’s going to be devastating to say the least when kabam sees how this community handles season 19. They will lose 1/3 of their semi competitive players.. they will focus on aq and do aw leisurely with out spending a penny. Some will altogether quit and I believe it will be more than anyone anticipates.

Buckle up guys and hold on tight it’s gonna be a bumpy road to recovery.

War has sucked for the last few seasons. I was plat 3 and dropped down because it’s truly not worth it. Somehow they made it even worse, again. When you have players leaving in droves and quitting or semi-retiring, you might want to move in a different direction. They never seem to do that

I expected there to be about 2 weeks of transition as players get used to this map, and i am sure we will find some counters to a lot of it, however, my initial opinion is that there is a big step back. My alliance is discussing ditching item use in aw and going just for aq full map 7.

There are so many interactions between global, local nodes and champ abilities. Its really not enjoyable and seems tailored even more to players with huge 5* and 6* rosters. I probably have about 30 5/65s or 6* r2, however, even i don't have some counters to bypass this.

Was there a beta for this? If so what was the feedback? And has kabam implemented any changes from it? I feel they learnt nothing to player reactions to act 6 and act 7

I’ve said it, and I’ll say it again. I love playing MCOC and I’m a regular spender. Sure, im not a whale but my sales matter too. If Im not satisfied with the product what incentives do I have to spend if we keep getting the short end of the staff?

Kabam dont you think you’ll actually make MORE money if you put out good deals that encourage people to spend money instead of creating “gotchu” nodes in the game and especially in a daily game mode such as AW.

I have been saving for the 4th of July but if this is not rectified I will not be spending a dime.

no beta. apparently they have been working on this for months.

I agree about rewards being too low, but the main demotivator is the stress of putting together teams, coordinating those teams into battlegroups and diversifying defenders then having all of that get wasted as a result of poor updates to the entire system. Absolutely just wasted time and effort.
