After unlocking suicides, how does it affect you as a FTP player?

I am thinking about it because most of my top champs are very very suicide friendly and I just got a ton of units since someone bought me an Odin

my top champs are:
Ghost
Corvus (5&6*)
CMM
G2099
Quake
Domino(do have trinity)
voodoo

going to rankup torch archangel and she hulk to r5 next probably

so as a FTP player does it cost a lot of potions and stuff through AQ and AW and story quests to maintain the health on all your champs somehow? and how bad it is on the non suicide friendly like Torch??

If not suicides then how can I increase my attack even more? I dont have a lot of bleed champs so the deep wounds mastery dont seem like my target but how about assassin's ? currently assassin mastery is on rank1

is there somewhere where I can check which will cost me more?

I recently got suicides as a mostly FTP player. With suicide friendly champs like Claire, Omega, Ghost, they’re amazing. Non immune champs really do struggle with them though.

It actually ends up being alright though. Your suicide friendly champs can deal with most matchups and if you need to bring a champ like Torch or Doom, it only really needs to be for one or two fights, which they can survive well enough.

I’m an arena grinder and I noticed such a difference when I got them. I wen Toronto taking about 45 minutes to run my 5*s to around 25. That’s huge for your quality of life in the game. They’re expensive, but they’re worth it. Just hoping they implement a cheaper way to switch masteries so they don’t become as much of a burden

One issue I'm fearing however is war defense. I always have my 5/65 Nick Fury as boss and I guess suicides will greatly weaken my defenders. I don't play war seriously enough to swap masteries for offense and defense. It's probably worth it to get suicides anyways since war isn't a priority. Is anyone else having suicides on for defense as well?

I have it and we play around P2/P1 in war.
I have only DE so no poison.
There are a few nodes where champs can benefit from suicides like redoubbled determination. Also nodes where champs take lower damage bc of nodes are great for them.

In the end suicides will still weaken your def bc the willpower healing scales from base HP and the damage your defender gets from bleed and poison are based on total HP.

That means they will lose like 400 hp/s and heal 90 or something. Depends on the value on each node.

And there is recoil as well.

If you have only a few players with suicides its ok. But never place a boss with suicides.

I've unlocked suicdes way back then, before the changes/nerf to them alongside willpower.
After that I pretty much never activated them again. I may only do it when there is a free week to change masteries just so I cant clear content faster

Just unlocked Suicides this weekend and did some Act 5 and Canadian difficulty side quest and AQ.
Changes:
1) I actually use SP3 (no recoil)
2) I am netting less HP loss, due to shorter fights. (I parry a lot)
3) I am making fewer mistakes, due to shorter fights

other masteries
- max'd out recovery and willpower
- I have 1 point in Coagulate

So far, seems worth the investment.

I went the other way and dropped willpower so I didn't need as many points in defense. Haven't really missed it. I am considering trying suicides again at some point. I used to run maxed DE way back when but haven't run it since the willpower nerf. I hate the idea of burning units to unlock LC but I may take the plunge at some point.

Back in the day willpower was over powered and made a lot of debuff champs unusable. Joe Fixit SP1 would heal you back to full health, Antman, Luke Cage, etc. would heal you up to full, hitting CA's shield, even SW was unusable in war if she was duped because she'd heal up defenders with willpower. If you ran the DE mastery all your champs that could bleed were like Dr Voodoo, healing up at the start of every fight. Willpower and no damage block teams were a lot of fun, but they were dominating the game, so Kabam nerfed willpower and dropped the leadership synergy. People were upset and quit the game but it was honestly for the best.

It was per active debuff, affected by modified max HP and I believe it used to be stronger in general anyways.
If you applied a debuff to a war boss you might aswell have just quit there and then, it was like applying a bleed to omega red

What's kinda annoying about the current willpower is that you can't run a non immune champ with max suicides without netting health loss irrespective of your mastery setup (max coagulate and suture or whatever) under normal circumstances. At least, that's what I think.

I don’t know I never bothered unlocking anything after willpower. But suicides need a downside and that is your downside.

Roster breadth can only be utilised without suicide masteries. I dropped them with the willpower nerf and haven't put them on. Only turned them on for some Abyss fights.

I agree you can’t utilise a lot of your roster with them turned on.
I turn my suicides back on when i know I’m not going to be doing any content the needs specific champs that aren’t suicide friendly for a while, just so arena is a bit faster.

You are missing the big part of suicides- maxed willpower and recovery. You only lose about 3-4% at most from a fight if you use a champ without immunities.

As far as torch goes, I’ve used him with suicides. It’s fine. The biggest issue is that there is no duration on incinerate when he’s bleeding unless he’s at high temperature.
It's actually about 10% health loss with that setup. That's if you're not using coagulate or suture.

Idk if anyone even runs suture, but coagulate is a must

Haven't read thread, but having suicides *saves* me items in AQ not the other way around. So long as you use your suicide friendly champs. Ending fights quickly in itself just counters so man"y things:)

My Aegon with Nick fury and Deadpool synergy is kinda god for me in incursion with Aegon having suicide. When reaching true strike charge with Buff Cornucopia hack then it’s lots of different buffs!

after the bleed he's not getting any time on incinerate isn't that where all his damage comes from?

Na, it's during the bleed his incinerates are basically non-existent. After that, it's free estate for incinerates! Plus damage boost from suicides.

I have a lot of suicide friendly champs but there’s also a lot of my roster that they aren’t great for. I spent all of off season with them on to see how they felt but I prefer non-Suicides tbh. I like the freedom to throw specials and I like to use Sp1 to ramp up Aegon which you can’t realistically do with suicides.

The other consideration for me is AW, 3 of my defenders are minibosses and suicides make them far easier to kill.

I've ran suicides for ages, and I only got them as I was a big arena grinder, recently took them off to do v1 and to be honest I'm having so much fun not having them on, I no longer do arena as I don't have the time plus I got bored of just playing corvus & ghost and not being able to use my whole roster effectively.

Suicides are great for certain champs but recoil absolutely sucks
