**WINTER OF WOE - BONUS OBJECTIVE POINT**
As previously announced, the team will be distributing an additional point toward milestones to anyone who completed the Absorbing Man fight in the first step of the Winter of Woe.
This point will be distributed at a later time as it requires the team to pull and analyze data.
The timeline has not been set, but work has started.

There is currently an issue where some Alliances are are unable to find a match in Alliance Wars, or are receiving Byes without getting the benefits of the Win. We will be adjusting the Season Points of the Alliances that are affected within the coming weeks, and will be working to compensate them for their missed Per War rewards as well.
Additionally, we are working to address an issue where new Members of an Alliance are unable to place Defenders for the next War after joining. We are working to address this, but it will require a future update.

Are Suicides worth it?

Overall imo not a good mastery, with recoil you make a lot of champs not that good
There are benefits for all champions. Some benefit more than others, but all champions gain a benefit from suicides.
However, depending on how ‘suicides friendly’ they are can mean they have a lot of detriment when running suicides.
For example, suicide friendly champs are extremely sustainable with suicides, for questing and incursions for example.
Despite liquid courage and double edge seeming like they deal a lot of damage at the start of every fight, willpower heals a lot of that damage back. If you max LC, DE and WP, you’ll take about 11% health each fight with the full duration of the bleed.
However, the recoil mastery is the one that takes a lot of champs down quickly.
Additionally, there are ways around these masteries. You can use the nick fury/deadpool x force/goldpool synergy to purify the bleed (poison if there isn’t a bleed) and heal 10% max health each fight. This means that not only will you not lose 11% each fight, but you’re healing an extra 10%.
So, you essentially heal back 2 specials worth of damage. Someone like sunspot or Hyperion greatly benefits from this, as usually they only need a couple of specials to close out fights.
Now lets discuss benefits of suicides.
Firstly, with the DE and LC masteries, you get a 60% attack bonus all the time. This includes basic attacks and special attacks. This is huge.
Also, champions with immunities and/or resistances to these masteries still get the full attack bonus. You just don’t take all that damage.
Now recoil. The prerequisite to suicides. While increasing special attack damage by 30%, it takes 5% health each special. This is fine for a lot of champions in normal questing, since your special knocks out the opponent most times anyway. It’s only champs that use specials in the fight who suffer from recoil.
Luckily, there are champs that get around it. Whether it’s strong healing, reducing the damage or flat out negating it, many champs have ways in which they deal with recoil. Some champs like this include:
- magik - heal back some/all recoil damage
- Quake - no damage from recoil because no specials
- Ghost - with hood synergy - take no recoil damage if you phase after sp2
- Omega red - heal back recoil from sp1, sp3 and bleed debuff due to willpower
- Corvus - ends fights in 1 sp2 rotation usually, heals from bleed debuff
there are more but these are the most common
Hopefully this helps. And hopefully ive convinced you to drop your units on these masteries. The 60% attack bonus (90% during specials) is so valuable. Speeds up fights, reduces chances for mistakes and overall makes the game more fun. Plus, who doesn’t like big yellow numbers? Who doesn’t like omega red melting everyone? So many champs benefit from them, and even those that don’t can still be used with suicides, from synergies or alternate playstyle.
For most players they’re 100% worth it.
Void doesn't like them much - but a large majority of the rest of your roster is great for it.
@Hazzalec1 post basically nails it.
I recently made the jump with a similar roster and it’s working out great, I’m tearing through content like act 6 exploration itemless. Aq is a joke. Omega, Corvus and BWCV are the workhorses with magneto waiting in the wings for next month.
Certainly there are paths inc act 6 and v5, void herald quest for eg where I want to use normal masteries but I’m saving them and plan to swap my attack masteries around once a month or something and just clear all those paths in one go.
