Magneto or Colossus to Rank 5?

Both sig 20.

Here's the thing I wrestle with: Seatin has Colossus at Beyond God Tier, but honestly I don't see it. He seems so dependent on parry - heavy spam. Aren't there a lot of situations where he just won't work well? Ex. Limber, Stun Immune, Debuff Immune, shug off mechanics, etc. Also, reliant on crits - with super low crit rating at 16%. Plus he seems pretty reliant on synergies (Omega and Emma). Seatin's showcase is so stacked - suicides, full team synergy, sig 200. When I play him just by him self (which is a realistic scenario), I find him lacking. Is he really that good? Seems boring! What am I missing here? I get that he has immunities, but I've got Torch, so whatever.

Magneto on the other hand just seems ridiculously dope. Love playing him so far. Crushing Vision or Darkhawk into a little armor broken cube is hilarious and wonderful. Stop me someone if this is a big mistake.

Thoughts?

    I absolutely agree on Colossus. I’ve got a R5 5* and a duped 6*, and while he’s great, I don’t find him to be all people crack him up to be

    Magneto on the other hand is an absolute freaking monster. Not as good in every matchup, but for matchups you want a punter for, he’ll cover a lot of them

    Colossus is still good without synergies or parry heavy. Magneto is pretty dependent on his opponents being metal. Both are good and you can’t go wrong either.

    You don't need to parry/heavy to make Colossus useable. I used him a couple months ago to do a clear of LOL and obviously with limber, parrying is not an option. Spam Sp2's until you have 20 permanent armors.

    Honestly OP it sounds like you’re leaning toward Mags and since you can’t go wrong with either you should just go with him. Personally, I’ve got colossus at r5 and rarely if ever use him vs mags who immediately became a staple in my main squad. Largely because of what you mentioned about synergies; I know he doesn’t need them but you want a champ that you’ll use often to be at their best without the use of synergies because you can’t always bring them.

    OP, follow your heart. You said you prefer mags, then go for him. You asking this question here is obviously gonna be met with one-sided feedback from people who probably haven't played with either one or both of the characters, and/or compared the two by themselves. People's opinions are very subjective, but you're the one making the decision at the end of the day.

    Besides, Colossus can always be ranked up later on, y'know

    I feel like you really should do both and not choose over these 2. Magneto is way different than Colossus, and I would do him first. He’s niche, but his niche includes a multitude of champs. He is the best there is at those particular champs.

    I’m actually debating on which out of these two that I’m gonna take to r3. I have both in a 6 along with omega and sunspot. I have a mutant t5cc and am leaning towards colossus. I have all of them as 5s at r5 and find that colossus covers the most ground in the game. But my colossus is at r1 still. :(

    I took mags up over him and I have no regret. He deals with alot of annoying defender's in war right now and handles pretty much of the tech class with ease because most are metal and he is still great against hero champions.

    Really? Because Colossus has immunities and an armour up and that’s it. Without Omega, his damage isn’t thrill either

    Mags has 2 immunities, goes unstoppable, has an essentially permanent armour break, shuts down regen against Metal opponents, can’t miss or be auto locked against metal opponents, plus they suffer 70% reduced ability accuracy. Not to mention he has a damage cap via his sig. And he ignores class disadvantage. Easily accessed lots of buffs and prowess

    Not to mention his damage against metal opponents is almost second to none

    And guess what? Most of the most prominent defenders right now are metal. You can look it up on Auntm.ai. Some examples: Mojo, Doom, Annihilus, Nova, Guillotine 2099

    Sure Colossus is better in non-metal matchups, but do you really need a counter to Iron fist?

    Colossus is overrated as hell. And this is coming from a guy with a maxed Colossus and the synergies to pair him with

    Both champs use this.

    Just pick whoever you want, both have their specific uses and niches that they fill.

    Nice rant bro...lol. I have both r5 and colossus is a beast and prolly the best mutant now in the game imo,..gets better with every sig stone as well and I don’t have the immunities,..idk maybe I play him better then you bro,..mags is great as well,..but colossus ain’t overrated,..not if you know how to use him.

    Both Champs are parry heavy style, not just colossus.

    I like both alot, got them as R5 5 star. Who do i enjoy playing more? of course Magneto. He is just soooo overpowering over metals champs. Alot of the most difficult defenders happen to be metals - IMIW, Annihilus, Mysterio, G2099, etc etc

    On the other hand, Colossus got great damage too and offers tons of immunities. He is the mutant immunity king, i believe only Thing and Emma Frost in diamond form have more immunities than colossus.

    aw man. great choice anyway! I think you make a good point about colossus vs mags and their role on a team. I see colossus as being more useful for the day to day, but magneto might be more useful for fights you would struggle with

    Good choice, and what you said is exactly right. If you need a specialist that does what Magneto does, he is clearly better for you. The thing is that Magneto makes a nice supplement to a Colossus team anyway. If you want to build a team for Colossus, then you are one step closer. Good luck!
