Is there a bug with Dr Doom vs. Electro?

Doctor Doom's armor makes him "immune to shock effects".

Electro's passive says when opponent make's contact, deals NN% static shock damage (energy damage).

Shouldn't Doctor Doom be immune to this (assuming no other effects would further complicate the interaction)? That doesn't seem to be the case in any game mode.

Static shock is just the ability name. Electro deals energy damage and no one is immune to that
  • And doesn’t wording of “immune to xxxxx EFFECTS” mean it would have to be from a DEBUFF (either active or passive), which Electro damage is not an “effect”.

No, HT is still immune to mephesto's aura because he is immune to incinerate.

No, HT is still immune to mephesto's aura because he is immune to incinerate.
But HT case says immune to (ALL) incinerate.
Whereas Doom says just from “Effects”, so if the Shock damage is not from a shock Debuff or shock Passive then Doom would still suffer damage from it. (Yes, Electro is not actually Shock, just pointing out the other reason why even if it were Shock damage)
  • Guess that's what I was initially trying to see from others (wording of Effect).

Not familiar with what the EMP node does, does it show up as an icon under Doom or an instantaneous damage ? (although lack of an icon is not always definitive, as Kabam has some cases where they fail to show a Passive Icon) Or maybe their wording is misleadingly using Effect as to summarize the 3 different things Doom is immune to, as opposed to conditioning each of them to being from an actual Effect.

Shock effects include Shock damage in general. Either via a debuff or via a passive shock
