How does off season wars work?

My alliance is going to end up in gold 1 and probably tier 5.
If we lose wars in off season, will it affect our starting position for next season?

Do we drop down tiers if we lose during off season?
Do we drop down to Gold 2 or Gold 3 if we lose in off season?

Gold 1/2, etc, is only based on in-season points. You don’t go up/down in the Gold/Sliver status during off-season.

However, Tier is what is based on War Rating. And off-season wars in Tier 1-5 won’t affect YOUR War Rating from that war. But if a nearby Tier-6 team wins and gets an increase in WR, they could potentially move past you into Tier-5 and cause you to fall. (Tier-6 and below do get WR changes from an off-season war).
Also changes to overall # of Alliances will cause adjustments to those on the edge of any Tier.
