Yup, as other have mentioned, they had their points docked - and in their case, they were removed entirely from the leaderboard. You can see which alliances were affected here:

We faced one of these alliances in the 10th war of the season, we were ranked 10th in plat 4 before the loss, essentially ruined any chance we had at placing plat 3.it was clear they were cheating and we raised a ticket. It’s annoying this stuff is still left to after the last war of the season.
