**WINTER OF WOE - BONUS OBJECTIVE POINT**
As previously announced, the team will be distributing an additional point toward milestones to anyone who completed the Absorbing Man fight in the first step of the Winter of Woe.
This point will be distributed at a later time as it requires the team to pull and analyze data.
The timeline has not been set, but work has started.
There is currently an issue where some Alliances are are unable to find a match in Alliance Wars, or are receiving Byes without getting the benefits of the Win. We will be adjusting the Season Points of the Alliances that are affected within the coming weeks, and will be working to compensate them for their missed Per War rewards as well.

Additionally, we are working to address an issue where new Members of an Alliance are unable to place Defenders for the next War after joining. We are working to address this, but it will require a future update.

fight the thing

Good evening, The Thing is truly an eyesore to beat !! Could someone give me the skills that block or slow down their irresistible / unblockable buff. And give me the characters who have the right skills ^^ Thank you

once he has 15 or more rock stacks, bait out a special attack to reset them to 0. Bleed him, he loses rock stacks. Or

  • Best training-wheel champ to fight Thing: Blade. Blade places bleed on well-timed block (i.e. Parry).

For those not that familiar with Thing. The basic idea is to hit him exactly 15 times then bait out a special. If he throws a special when he has 15 or more, he resets to zero. But if you hit him when he has 15 or more he goes unstoppable. So what happens when he has 15 but doesn't have a bar of power? This is a sticky situation. You can hit into his block, but that's not easy for most players to do consistently. You can actually deliberately trigger his unstoppable and then run for your life, but that's also not easy.

You'd like to be able to hit him and give him power, but you need to get him below 15 rock stacks to do that safely. Blade has a way to do that. If you Parry Thing, Blade will place a bleed. Thing is immune to Bleed, but this will remove three rock stacks. That makes Blade probably the champion with the most control over Thing, as he has a 100% chance to remove three rock stacks on demand, without actually having to attack Thing.

You need to watch out for when he gets 15 rock stacks. When he gets all 15, hit his block and make him throw his specials. You could use bleed champs to get rid of his rock stacks.

    Quake him

In addition to suggestions above, a high sig OG Black Widow stops him from getting rock stacks. She not a super hard hitter but you can hit him all day before he goes unstoppable.

I usually will use OR or a bleeder. Bait special at 15 rock stacks and if his under 1 bar of power at 15 rock stacks, then wait for him to block and just hit into his block to push him to 1 bar of power.

She Hulk, Spider Gwen or any champ with a reliable slow mechanics are the most effective counters.
Gwenpool is also a great counter (if not the best) for high pi, large healthpool Things 😉

Stealthy works, but for less experienced players SSS does have the problem of the double hit medium. If you run out of slow, it can cause problems for players if they accidentally medium into 14 rock stacks.

they can just do a 5 hit L combo

    LLLL
the fifth L is them distributing the L to the opponent after they win with my strategy

I agree on the "less experienced players" part either way. But I've never had a problem with losing slow against Thing. There's a strategy where you can counter his SP 1 with light attacks, whiffing a few and making the last, essential one make contact and reapply the slow if needed. Abyss Thing is almost always a fairly easy solo with Stealthy.

She definitely can't solo the biggest Thing in the game - Abyss Thing.
