White magneto pre fight and protect global

We had a little debate on whether white magneto prefight ability (15% attack) will cause to trigger the protect global in alliance wars? This global has been acting very strange throughout the season. Sometimes it triggers on a light attack that barely does any damage but other times doesn’t trigger on a special that does thousands of damage. Also when boosted, protect global triggers in accordance with base attack or boosted attack?

    Im sure protect only works when you hit 300% of your base attack just like how things protect works

    The global is scaled to the base attack of your attacking champ only. So if you have a champ with 1000 attack and you deal more than 3000 damage in a single hit you will trigger protect. Boosts, synergies, Mags prefight, and masteries all can contribute to you getting to that 3000 damage as the attack increase is applied on top of your base attack.

    In short yes, it can help contribute towards triggering the global.
