As stated in title, if Kabam announced new content today, like "Hey y'all, next month we will be releasing Variant 7, here are some sneak peeks at what it might entail!" then they could just gauge the community response and if everyone loves it, the surprise would be that it actually was the truth. If it was ridiculous and they received a ton of backlash, they could just go back to the drawing board and say "April Fools! We are releasing the same content but the rewards are actually doubled!" so it would be a win-win.
Please don't actually do this Kabam, just thought it was entertaining...... although I wouldn't be mad if Aunt May actually made it in-game....
