Apocalypse AW defender

Does Apoc start with 4 charges on AW defense? Could of sworn last time I fought him he didn't have 4 charges, then today first fight he went straight to 4 charges. Im just trying to figure out if that's how he works now

If he is boss he starts with 4

And if you fight him with a mutant he goes to 4.

Ah OK that's what it was, I used a mutant. I wasn't sure if that's how he was suppose to work or not, thanks
