How did you get your first 5 star? Through story or through shards, or some other way? Also, what method should I approach to get my first 5 star?

    Got enough shards from august 2017 calendar and got 5* spiderman then dupped him on my second 5*

    X23, aw, eq and arenas were the chief source of me getting my first 5*

    Mainly SA and Arena. My first was X-23, still my favorite champ to date.

    My first was Dr Octopus and I got it from shards from the Gwenpool quest. Second was IMIW when I 100% explored the same quest.

    My first one was gift from Kabam - Howard The Duck. Needless to say I was delighted as I had only three stars then that too Beast. No four stars but direct quack the duck.
