December champ predictions

So in the YouTube video by Kabam called “Inside the Contest ep. 2” they tease on who is coming in November and December. For November, it’s already been data mined for who is going to be, but no one has talked about December. They stated that it is going to be someone from Spider-Man’s rouges gallery. They also showed some pictures of morbid, hydro-man, shocker, kraven the hunter, hobgoblin, and the lizard. Personally, I would love Morbius and the Lizard, but it’s probably going to be kraven since of the one missing person in the Diablo synergy. Who do you think it could be?

If they’re going to tie it to the upcoming Spider-Man movie, it will likely be Sandman or Lizard.

Otherwise, it might be Morbius since he was part of the community choice event with Hercules, Omega Sentinel, etc., and they’d likely already done work on him (plus, there is a Morbius movie somewhere in the pipeline).

As one of kabam said sandman was already in the works of being created so my bet is on sandman due to if already seeing if he works like quicksilver means there close to being in game

The rules for that event said that if they didn't win, they wouldn't be eligible until 2022 soooo odds are good they won't give us Morbius.

Whoever it is, these are pretty beloved characters (with possible exception of Hydro-Man). They’ve been around a very long time.

Which is a subtle way of saying I hope the team more than does them justice.

Personally, I’d love to see Kraven if he’s a Skill DoT monster who uses multiple types of projectile weapons and deals lots of AAR and disorient. I’d also expect him to have some form of tenacity/shrug ability.

Lizard is another favorite. I’ve got to think the Dragon Man framework would be what gets used for him, with a mix of slashing hits and tail swipes that can stun opponents. He should have tons of physical resistance plus the ability to deal bleed (and maybe poison) damage. He’s a super scientist, so it would be nice for him to boast synergies with the other smart guys in MCoC (Ock, Reed, etc.).

Hobgoblin…the main thing I’d love from him is to make GG useable. I’m probably less excited about Hobby because he’s likely just GG 2.0 and much better than GG (who should be awesome in game). The model is easy…pumpkin bombs, glider swoops, bat razors, all the same drill.

Morbius I hope will be put off until his movie. He’s an October type of champ and not really a Christmas/holiday guy.

Sandman has the chance to be amazing. Immunities galore (how do you harm silica?) but with vulnerability to heat (hello, Torch). I’d give him all kinds of Miss/Evade mechanics maybe as part of an ability to shift between damage-dealing and damage-reduction (but be careful he’s not another Mysterio trade-off champ). Really, it’s exciting to think about because he’s got so many comic abilities that could translate into a great champ for the game.

Who’s left? Hydro-Man? Meh. Shocker would be nifty, but I wonder what his actual abilities would be—shock, AAR via vibration, maybe a CB type of champ frame with a few different skill sets dropped in? As much as I love Shocker, he’s got more of a blank slate on abilities and as such could just as likely be amazing or useless.

So Kraven, Lizard, Sandman. Happy if any of those three are done justice.

Personally I feel like one champ will be Sandman, as he has already been confirmed to be in the world, so December could very well be when he gets released. As for the other champ, as much as I dread it, I wouldn’t be one but shocked if we see another MCU Spider-Man. Specifically, in the new mystic infused suit that has been leaked through various merchandise. Seeing as how we had Stark Spidey for Homecoming, and Stealth Spidey for FFH, I feel like it is fairly possible we’ll see some new form of Spidey for NWH. While I think it could definitely be cool to see a possible mystic spider champ, I’d much rather see another villain like the Lizard added instead.

Earlier I suspected that Absorbing Man was the missing person in the Diablo synergy. If it's been revealed as a Spidey villain, it's probably Kraven.
