I don't think we'll see 7-stars. I think the next phase of champs will be like Steve.

Not now, but eventually it'll either be 7 stars, something new with the same/similar effect to a new star level, or the end of the game. Once players get an army of 6r5 champs, there will be nothing meaningful left to achieve, no meaningful amount of rewards to get.

Seems like it'll take a long time until then, but that point will come.

I'd rather they run 6* out to rank 10 than force everyone to start over.

It would be WAY too soon. If they introduce them it should be after we can get our first rank 5 6* champs. And by that point the shards should be crawling in. The progression from 5* to 6* should be kept like it is right now. Where 5* champs are still useful for content.
But I hope it will atleast be one more year before we progress to 7 star champs.
