Considering you could only get one 6* awakening gem it really feels like a trash move. Due to RNG I can’t take advantage of this. Honestly makes you feel deflated.
How has RNG played into this?
Trading my 4* awakening gems into 5* and not getting the right 5* to trade in for a generic.
So you have every piece of content done that has AGs in them? Never used a single one?
My hoarding tendencies work in my favor this time. 6* AGs are pretty rare and I've been itching to awaken Guardian, so hopefully I get tech. Plus I can finally do something useful with the 5 skill AGs I'm sitting on.
Honestly, the top end of this was for the top end of players. Who seem satisfied with their options to clear out useless gems. The store worked fine for me to clear out items that I don’t use often, or were in overflow. This is a perspective issue, not a math issue.
Kabam: We don't want you to hoard you stuff, it is bad for the game.
also, Kabam: Congrats on hoarding your 5 star generic AGs. Now you can get a 6 star AG. For those of you who took our advice on hoarding: Too bad, it sucks to be you.
This could have been very good if it wasn’t targeted at a specific group of players and oh yeah we could actually have stock piles of items. But we can’t because of diminishing returns we’re we are forced to use or sell on a very regular basis. It’s whatever. I’m really not shocked anymore at this point. Personally I wish I could trade in a bugged out game for a version that actually works.
Yeah trade in store is rubbish. Could Kabam at least treat us like they are thankful to have us? 5 generic for 1 6* random. How about 1 generic and 3 for a random. Not surprised. They don't play their own game. Not a lot of people have 5* gems just laying around so most can't even trade anything in. Tone def for sure.
Yeah, that was the one aspect I didn't like with the store. 5 generic 5* AGs is very hard to just have saved up. I had three when I became Thronebreaker half a year ago, and I figured hey, there's really no reason to save these, right? And I started using them a bit more freely on fun champs. I think I used two and earned another one in the meantime, so I went into today with two generic gems. Even after pouring all of my resources into the shop, I didn't even manage to get a single other generic 5* AG since RNG spread out all of the AG crystals over the various classes. As such, I wouldn't even have been able to get my hands on that 6* AG even if I had hoarded all of the 5* ones I'd "wasted" on champs in the past.
I'm not mad or anything. I don't really have any champion that I am dying to awaken anyway, so it's not exactly a terrible loss. It's just annoying. It seems like a reward that is exclusively meant for the very, very, very beyond-the-endgame players - without being communicated as such.
But, eh, bah, it is what it is. I liked the store in general even if it was a bit unwieldy at times. It really helped to de-clutter a lot of my inventory. And while I didn't end up getting any generic 5* AGs or a 6* one, I did end up trading in all of my 4* ones for 5* ones which will come in handy in the future.
Or should I? Is it better to just hoard them endlessly in case this store ever comes back? I honestly don't know and that kind of irks me a bit.

Agree with this. I use up my awakening gems when Item Use event comes around. Think all my 4* are awakened now. I used up a load of 5* awakening gems 6 months ago, wish I channelled my inner Brian Grant and hoarded everything. Let this be a lesson to us all. Hoard everything.
I think Kabam view of the economy is really off for me. The trade in that feels reasonable is 2x class for a generic and 3x generic for the 6* awakening gem.
Also 25 generic 5* sigs for 1 class based 6* gem is way way to expensive. Think 5 to 1 is much more reasonable for this type of event.
The trade in for health and revives is great. The other parts are more about fleecing us than a good value trade in.
I dont know what you were expecting. They dont give away 6 star gems for free while they are still so rare. The only thing they missed is the chance to reroll 5 star gems which could have helped many. Personally it has been a free 6 star gem for me but that deal is intended to endgame players, not mid tier players.

I wouldn't be thankful for most of this community.

It's not really a progression issue, it's down to whether or not you've hoarded your awakening gems or not. I had way more 5* AGs saved up back when I was Cavalier and they actually meant something as opposed to now that I'm Thronebreaker and I use them a lot more freely since I mainly focus on 6*s anyway.
Is there anyway in the next week for those of us one 5 star gem short to get a generic one? I used all my AGs for 3 & 4 stars to take a shot at opening a class 5* and after three tries still am one shy to get it. Such a bummer to be this close and miss out due to bad Crystal spinning

1- Correct me if I m wrong, but Trade in store is supposed to help you get rid of whatever is in a massive pile in your account, crystals mostly, and get something useful from it. As a TB, I have more than 1k t3 cc shard crystals and even more t3 full cc crystals. And all we get to exchange, is 5 crystals. Great, I now don't have 1267 anymore, I have 1262. Let's wait for next year when I ll get another 500 till then.
2- I m not an end game player, so I don't have that many 5* aw gems, not more than 10, including two generic ones. At the start. But I do have a great amount of 3 and 4* aw gems, that I can trade after half an hour back and forth to my full inventory etc, to get generic 4* from the class 3* ones, generic 5* from the 4* ones, and so on. Did all that, still overflowing from 4 and 3* ag, hitting the LIMIT of 5 for the 5* aw gems, and because of the rng, I m now having almost TWO awakening gems of each class, FOUR generic 5* aw gems, and NO chance of getting the 6* one.
I for one loved the gem trade in. I had 6 SIX 5*science gems and no champs to use it on. I mean no champs like all mine are awakened. I also had 4 generics I was sitting on since I didn’t have anyone to use them on worth it. Saved for new champs. This worked out for me. Traded for a 6*, got mystic. Duped my r3 doom.
Traded my six star mutant awakening gem and got a mystic one so now I awakened my Doom I know it’s not necessary but I am still happy to see him awakened

It's not RNG. You just didn't have enough.
Then did some other trades since I had some 4-star gem crystals so that I could get another 5-star generic AG.
I'm still considering trading any of my 6-star class AG for another shot at another class, but might be too risky

Then today on Trade offer…I opened that crystal and got Science crystal
I wanted skill gem so I traded science gem so that I can go for skill
But biggest surprise was I got science gem again after trading science gem
Is this kabam trade show? It’s just pathetic.

Kind of daft design to make it 3-1 conversion for 5* gems but not offer rerolls with how messy RNG can be
