Ngl, I am a bit sad for no Feb buffs, but I can get over it.
The people working on the engine aren't the ones working on champions. Why is it so hard for you all to understand this?
This idea was in the works from at least late October early November. There is no way you can convince me otherwise. Why do I think this? Well a few reasons.
1) champ buffs are planned out ahead of time, tester internally, then CCP then live. That doesn’t account for the time spent redoing the inner workings of champs. So let give them a modest 2 month head start. That would mean October they would have been working on Decembers, and in November they would have been working on Februarys. Despite what some would have you believe that it take just one month to buff a champ.
2) this idea isn’t just something they planned in a meeting this week. There is too much thought to that wall of text essay to have been discussed in weekly meetings or a table top discussion Wednesday, to drop Thursday.
3) the timing just seems a bit to coincidental. It’s drop EOD to where they can post it and nonchalantly walk away to go hike for the day. Posting something this major this late in the day is a disgrace.
There has been a post about February buff champs up for a while now, and Kabam has chosen to ignore it, for a reason. This idea of balance. They knew they couldn’t say anything and not get feedback before they are able to make a long text explaining why and why.
It’s just sad they knew at LEAST by December when they made the announcement for No buffs in January this was coming and they were trying to skate around the issue. This isn’t open communication and transparency. It’s closed doors and veils. This feigned ignorance on Kabams part is not good going forward.
This reminds me of 12.0 and how they communicated very poorly with the player base.
I believe the holiday break was one of the reasons for no Jan buffs, but with no buffs in Feb I can't say the same, and I think it is likely that they have been working on this project instead of buffs for Jan+Feb. I wouldn't called it misinformation at the very least, rather spreading speculations.
And Cull Obsidian can reliably and frequently Armor Break, parry non-contact, counter Evade and Auto-Block once ramped, and stack 10+ Buffs easily. If you're choosing to give him a 1 for utility then may I ask what the likes of Cyclops and Groot would get for this category???
Will STORM hair be changed? And what are the chances of Deadpool (RED) getting new animations too?
2 buffs (if you can call them that) a month worked for me and probably the majority of community. Why are you trying to 'fix' something which in my opinion does not need fixing?
I really hope that Kabam look at the overwhelmingly disappointed response here and actually listen to the community! Imagine opening a 6* featured crystal for it to land on a champion that is rated 1/5 in every rating category by the developer of the game you're playing, what a slap in the face.
There are so many more things that this games needs rather than a developer ranking system of each champion.
Damage: 5/5
Utility: 5/5
War defender: 4/5
War attacker: 5/5
Synergy needs (scaled in reverse): 5/5
Prestige: 5/5
Groot ratings
Damage: 1/5
Utility: 2/5
War defender: 1/5
War attacker: 0/5
Synergy needs (scaled in reverse): N/A (literally no meaningful synergies for him)
Prestige: 0/5
Gonna be interesting how the tune ups gonna look based on this.
It is good step to inovate the game, but I think the best way to inovate, is by continuing to update older champs, as they can be used and ranked. There are really few new champs, who are on the same level as the likes of Iron Man or DPX.
Or you can update stores, rewards for alliance events, make new daily quests even.
I'm just nervous reading about Namor, who I honestly think was 'balanced' to such a degree that nobody really use him as a top choice anymore. I understand why the raptures had to get changed but his regen could have been left unchanged.
Personally I don't understand enough of the games mechanics in order to understand if newly released champs are going to be OP based on their champion description. Therefore, this change will definitely keep me from purchasing new preview bundles or feature crystals before I'm sure the champ isn't given the Namor treatment. Maybe transparency and good communication is required on a monthly basis after a champ is released?
What kind of stupidity is this? Are you really outta your minds? Do not you have any ethics and morals? Your mindset is just a shame. You really deserve to go to bankrupt and being buried in the history.
Wait so are they buffing these champions or just only giving them animation updates?
Underwhelming champions from 2021 should just join the buff queue and wait there turn.
