I have a basic 4* awakened gem.
Which is recommended to awakened?
Wolverine
Mordo
Quake (Whom is at r5)
Stark Spider-Man
Cable
Symbiote Spider-Man

If it helps, I am at around 130k ranking and my top champs are Quake, duped Magic, duped Ultron, Duped Civil Warrior (All others are r4)

    Wolverine, Quake or Stark Spider-man are all good options for a generic gem

    I would do Wolverine. He gets the biggest gain from being awakened whereas Quake and Spark are good without being awakened. Spark does get really good when awakened, but he's good without it.

    I wouldn't even use a class gem on Quake.

    I wouldn't worry about awakening Mordo, Cable and Symbiote-Spidey.

    if you are done with act 4 , stark spidy , if not , or you dont have a regen champ for allince quest , you definitely need that wolverine ...

    Wolverine. Spidey is fine without his Sig ability.

    I say Wolvie or stark spidey, rest of all are not wroth for basic 4* awakened gem.

    Looking at your list, personally I'll only consider using a generic 4* awakening gem on either Wolvy or Starky.

    1) Starky - Worth a generic, but I may just use a tech, and save the generic for someone else like Blade, Mephisto, Voodoo, Hyperion
    2) Wolverine - Worth a generic, but I may just use a tech, and save the generic for someone else like Blade, Mephisto, Voodoo, Hyperion
    3) Mordo - Just wait for it to be dupped via a duplicate
    4) Quake (Whom is at r5) - Worth a science awakening gem
    5) Cable - Just wait for it to be dupped via a duplicate, save resources for AA, Iceman, X23 and Wolvy
    6) Symbiote Spider-Man - Just wait for it to be dupped via a duplicate, save resources for Hyperion, Medusa, Hela, Angela (don't need to be awakened to be great), Drax

    Here's some recommendation from Seatin, not that what he said must be right, but just as a good reference for you. I'm sure many other experts have various useful opinions, and you should decide what's right for you, all the best :)
