Champion Spotlight- Deadpool (X-Force) (2022 Update)

About Deadpool (X-Force)

You know, with the other, less-cool version of me? I’m the hot one! That red-suited scab factory just copies Spider-Man! I’ve got skills, suckahs!

Deadpool (X-Force)'s Mechanics

Deadpool X-Force excels at berating his opponent with insults during the fight to inflict Taunt Debuffs that weaken them. It is imperative that his opponent is annoyed during the fight to maximize Deadpool X-Force’s Duodenum Poke output. Furthermore he skips around the battlefield nonchalantly to frustrate his opponent even more. If they’re too distracted by his gleeful approach he can unleash a devastating Super Slap to inflict massive Bleed damage.

BASE STATS & ABILITIES

 4-Star  15660  1227  4500
 5-Star  31398  2459  10450
 6-Star (Rank 3, Level 45)  40458  3169  13430

Character Class: Mutant
Basic Abilities: Taunt, Bleed, Vicious

STRENGTHS:
  • Resilient
  • Constant application of Taunt Debuffs causes the opponent to deal much less damage and allows Deadpool X-Force to take more hits than most

  • Bleed Damage
  • Deadpool X-Force’s Duodenum Poke alongside his Special Attack 1 and his Super Slap can apply a massive amount of Bleed Debuffs
WEAKNESSES:
  • Bleed Immunity
  • The bulk of Deadpool X-Force’s damage comes from his Bleed Debuffs, thus any character that is Bleed Immune will be able to negate a large portion of his damage

ABILITIES:
The following Stats and Abilities are based on a Rank 5, Level 65, 5-Star Champion

Taunt – I’m the Merc’ With the Mouth, Baby!:
  • Deadpool can inflict Taunt Debuffs on the opponent, reducing the opponent’s Attack Rating by 25% for 13 seconds. Max Stacks: 3.
  • Inflict a Taunt Debuff each time the opponent fails to activate a Buff or Debuff during a basic attack. Cooldown: 4 seconds(s).
  • Inflict a Taunt Debuff by landing a Heavy Attack.
Developer’s Note: Stacking Taunts? Only Deadpool could be so brash. Stack all 3 and have your opponent’s Special Attacks cycle all day long.

All Attacks – Duodenum Poke:
  • 100% chance to inflict a Bleed Debuff, causing 1229.5 direct damage over 4 seconds. Cooldown: 4 seconds.

Heavy Attack – Super Slap:

Developer’s Note: The bigger the ego, the bigger the slap. Charge up Deadpool’s Super Slap charges to deal some big Bleed damage. Take control of the stage to get charges quick!

SPECIAL ATTACKS
Special 1:
  • If the opponent has a Taunt Debuff, during this attack, Duodenum Poke does not have a Cooldown. Death by a thousand pokes!
Developer’s Note: In shorter fights, spam Heavy Attacks and Special 1 to stack tons of Bleeds on the opponent!

Special 2:
  • This is Deadpool’s Fav Attack and while fighting as a Defender he is 100% more likely to use it over other Special Attacks.
  • Each hit that is Blocked inflicts a Taunt Debuff.
  • If Deadpool successfully lands all his hits during the attack, he has a 100% chance to inflict a Stun Passive lasting 3.50 seconds.
Developer’s Note: Knocks the opponent away and land a long lasting Stun to build up a ton of Super Slap charges!

Special 3:
  • Inflict a Taunt Debuff.
  • 100% chance to gain a Vicious Buff, increasing the Potency of Damage-Over-Time Debuffs by 75% for 25 seconds. While this effect is active, all Taunt Debuffs on the opponent are Paused.
Developer’s Note: Make sure you’ve got a Super Slap in the bank before the Special 3 and get some huge Bleed damage!

Signature Ability - Superciliously Superior Slander:
  • Taunt Debuffs
  • Each time the opponent Purifies a Taunt Debuff or a Taunt Debuff on the opponent is Replaced due to hitting the Max Stacks limit, Deadpool gains a Power Gain Buff granting 0.5 Bar(s) of Power over 5 seconds. Cooldown: 5 second(s). When insults fail, try violence!

I’m disappointed that DPX and Doom don’t have a synergy called “Slap Buddies”

So will he never throw a sp1 or sp3 on defense?

I know people don’t want to hear it, but this look is from a run where he lost his healing factor during one of the arcs. It was actually interesting, though I understand why people want it in the kit
Because no one has super-duped 6 star OG Redpool, everyone has 6 star Deadfool X-Pork duped, we're fiending for a top tier passive regen champ that we know and love and Kabam continues to say "Yeah, nah. How about another Gamora buff instead?" and "*Xzibit meme* Yo, we heard you like passive regen, so we took that away and added something else you never asked for!"

If his kit will be taunt based, the percentage needed to be ultra high because She-Hulk stacks taunt percentage like mad during typical play and the ai just looks dumb at her and doesn't throw anything a lot of the time.

EDIT: Thought you said didn't understand. My points still stand, but not in response to you.

So will he never throw a sp1 or sp3 on defense?

The way I interpret it, it’s like the Special 2 bias node. He’s just more likely to throw his SP2 than any other special attack

He doesn't have Regen. That's his thing.

I saw @GrandOldKai mention in another thread that this version of Deadpool doesn’t have his healing. Not sure what the reasoning is behind that, but maybe they or someone else can give you the answer about that

Although changing him now might be a bit awkward, why is he a Mutant when he specifically doesn't have his mutant abilities?

No worries — I hear you. I totally get it

That’s always been my thing with DPX. I admired the fact that someone clearly read that X-Force run enough to know that DPX losing the healing factor was a big deal, so if you’re going to introduce this variant, then that’s how you make it different

But the frustrating part is for how much someone clearly read the run enough to bring that distinction into the kit/game, they opted not to emphasize the other good stuff that came with that run, which was how well Wolverine, Psylocke, Archangel, DPX and Fantomex worked as a team

They nailed the appearances — those uniforms are perfect, even though they never released the Wolverine X-Force variant into the game

But the synergies have always been lackluster for that specific set of characters, and it would’ve been cool to see them synergize better with each other, maybe something like crit rate/damage/prowess increases that would have made them really nasty if they were all on the same team

(And I am someone who doesn’t really like synergies much, at all. That X-Force run was so good, and Psylocke, Archangel and DPX are clearly wearing their costumes from it, I always thought it would be cool to have them have a real connection, even though, again, I don’t like synergies much)

What are the chance this is one of DPX's special animations?

That would be sweet. And the bleed would at least make since that way. Where exactly is he poking people to get them to bleed anyway?

    Everything else:C-

No reason to cap his slap charges at 10. His bleed isn't crazy strong and it doesn't last forever. A soft cap of 20 indefinite charges and let him stack beyond that with charges that expire back down to 20 and now we're talking. Even at rank 3, he's still boss fodder before I'd bring in Fury to handle that business.
Taunt is mostly worthless at that level of weakness and low stack, something that kept the opponent from throwing specials like a special lockout would make more sense, especially since he doesn't have his nifty regen to bail him out. Keep them too flabbergasted and distracted with FUNNY CALLOUTS to concentrate on specials and stack enough of them and their specials will miss or glance once they throw them. It was right there...

Recommended masteries - Petrify/Pacify. This doesn’t work for stun passives so with this buff, are we going to see Petrify/Pacify work with stun passives? Tried and tested using White Mags prefights that these masteries do not apply. In any case, the mastery description words it as “stun debuff” anyway.

This is a really good question. I'm interested to know why this was added to the spotlight if there is no way to get a stun debuff but only a stun passive from DPX sp2. Maybe like "Vern" mentions, we may see a change to pacify getting expanded to stun passives as well.
Just don't see why else they slapped that recommended mastery on there? Makes it look unfinished, don't get me wrong, I love the new animations (except the heavy reach) but my complaint is it seems not much attention was paid to the actual abilities of the champ...
